“No can ban.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2012

The can ban on the Comal and parts of the Guadalupe rivers does not exist here. At least for now. Hope for a rainy winter and spring so that there will be ample water flow.

“Refreshing River!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2012

This river is popular not just with the students of Texas State University but with residents and visitors alike. The water is crisp and clear and fish can be seen among the local vegetation. It's banks hold sunbathers and those optinf for a pleasant picnic.

“Good, inexpensive fun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2012

We floated the river last weekend and had a blast. My children are 9 and 11 and enjoyed every minute. The water felt good against the 102 degree sun. The river is very clean and even though there were lots of people, we had plenty of space to ourselves. You can rent a tube for $7 from the Lions Club and they give you unlimited bus rides from the dam back to the start. The tubes have a mesh bag that can hold your flip-flops so you don't have to leave them in the car. The rapids created by the dam at the pick up point are a blast. My kids did them over and over. There are even rope swings. Don't forget sunscreen.

“Best part of San Marcos for centuries!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2012

Floating any part of the San Marcos river (with or without float) is great. It is 72 degrees year round. The river head waters at Spring Lake feed this beauty and allow for crystal clear waters always. Bring your goggles to look at the fish. We love jumping in right by the Salt Grass restaurant but don't park there as they will tow.

“Swiming, Kayaking”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2012

This place is awesome, it's free of charge. Picnic area, volley ball area, kid playground, and best of all the water. The dam area has 3 sloping water falls where tubers and kayakers hang around. Too much to do there to mention.
