“Alexandra's House is the best bed and breakfast ever!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

We just came back from our trip to Wimberley and San Marcos. We stayed in 3 different places, and Alexandra's House was by far the best. Everything about it was exemplary. Rosemary and Reed are gracious and inviting hosts, who've thought of everything. The house looks old, but it's new. We stayed in the Diana and found it to be charming and comfortable. The adjoining bathroom and large closet were part of an alcove, which could be made private with the sliding pocket door. The grounds were beautiful. The breakfast on the open-air porch was fabulous! Stay here! You won't be disappointed. It's close to Wimberley and the San Marcos outlet mall, but it's set back from the road and incredibly peaceful. Two thumbs up!

Beautiful home, beautiful property tucked in just off the highway in an excellent location for Wimberley and San Marcos. My wife and I had a great time there visiting with the other guests and with Adam over breakfast, which was incredible! We will definitely be going back for another weekend trip. Thank you!!

The accommodation was great,
The breakfast, and hostess, first-rate.
Fresh baking to begin,
And sweet treats
When you come in
At the end of the day.
A wonderful place to rest your head
In a comfortable bed.
Make this "house"
Excellent in every way.

We have stayed at 3 different bed and breakfast places near Texas State, but none compare to Alexandra's House. Located about 10 minutes from the campus, it has become my new home away from home. Whether I am visiting our son with my husband, or bringing my son's girlfriend to visit - it is amazing. The rooms each have privacy, are quiet, and have their own bathroom. It is hard to pick where I like to sit the most - by the amazing barn or on rockers outside the rooms. The breakfast is to die for! I'm also partial to Rosemary's French toast :) We have stayed here several times and are looking forward to our visits in the Spring.

This is our first time visiting San Marcos, we were there for our friends wedding.
The moment we walk in its feels we are home...its great! and was welcome with such a wonderful hospitality by Rosemary. She is a great cook and will make you a delicious breakfast! My husband can get enough of her French toast with mascarpone cheese and lemon syrup...
We will certainly always remember San Marcos and definitely Alexandra's house.
Its first class all the way and we Highly Recommend this place to stay.

My four former college roommates and I decided to have a girls' reunion weekend in the Wimberley area. We picked this B&B and reserved all three guest rooms. We're so glad we did! Rosemary was very kind and accommodating, and she is an amazing cook. Her breakfasts were so delicious that we ate every morsel, even when we were beyond full - I can practically still taste the lemon ricotta pancakes! This B&B is clean, cozy, quiet and in a great location. I have since recommended it to several friends.

My wife and I planned a vacation in the Hill Country of Texas, We wanted to get into Austin and San Antonio as well as delight in the beautiful wildflowers near Fredericksburg. We decided to stay for 7 days at Alexandra's House, which is half way between San Marcos and Wimberly. This turned out to be a great decision as the location afforded us easy access, via day trips, to all that we wanted to do. Rosemary made us feel like we were part of the family and right at home. Her two course breakfasts were so generous and tasteful that we didn't need lunch during any of our outings. A potential difficulty for Rosemary was that I am on a gluton free diet. She took that as a challenge, bought the proper mixes, and made the most tasteful gluton free food I had eaten in quite a while. She is an excellent cook. The B&B was roomy, spotless, and quiet. The grounds were delightful for strolling. Everything that we could ask for was provided.
