Great location and excellent price for what you pay. Needs updates but overall satisfied, towels and mattress did look like they had a recent menstruation on them, but for $35 a night can't expect much better. Will still probably stay again if back in San Marcos.

Pricey.
Furniture old and broken.
Hotel door lock didn't work, had to get owner to open door every day.

This hotel is the dirtiest place I have EVER, EVER been. After telling the hotel owner/ manager about the cockroaches I saw on the floor, he came to my room, sprayed them right back under the bed with Febreeze!!!! Then refused to give me a full or even partial refund!!! I went to speak to the Indian woman at the desk, who turned out to be the managers wife and she was absolutely rude! She interrupted every single sentence I spoke! Therefore, I told her she was had bad customer service and a bad attitude. She said I had a bad attitude too. I replied that considering I had no sleep, was late to a job fair I had driven 4.5 hours fo, all because I was hassling with them, she told me to "just get out." So between roaches, waterbugs, no shampoo (they were out), and terrible customer service, I would NOT recommend this place.

Room was clean. No operational smoke alarm. Both of the pillows on the bed would have easily fit into the microwave. Don't expect a lot here.

Queen Beds were comfortable. Priced at $39.99 weekday, worth that.
Problems were : website says "breakfast-pastries and coffee". Went down for pastries, innkeeper said NO pastries, can't afford to offer them at that price (39.99).
I suggested it be taken off the site then, he said he'd told them (whoever that is) to but they haven't.
Mini-fridge didn't work.
Asked for a second room key later the 1st day, and he said it would be awhile, his computer wasn't working?.
Second morning, went down for coffee at 7am, there was none, he said he was out of coffee. Out of coffee already at 7 am??
No hand towels in room at checkin and only 1 washcloth, so went down to ask for additional and he said they were drying and come I come back later??
Very small parking lot, don't know where you'd park if you came in late at night?

weather was hot and dry and the office floor looked like it had been raining all day. the room looked like it had not been cleaned from the last guest. the bath room needed claening one of two towels had stains on it. the T/P was almost empty and the bath tub floor was black from dirt build up. the dressing area light was burned out, light next to the bed was burned out. the desk chair had the back off of it and it was lying on another chair. the room had a coffee maker but no pot or coffee. the sink faucet looked like some one brushing their teeth spit on it and did wash it off. the bath currtain was torn and the curtain rod was turned backwards ( Curved into the tub instead out to give more room in the tub.) the side walk in front of the rooms has a planting area bewteen the walk and the parking lot which was covered with cig. butts. and smelled
I did not stay the night after seeing all of this I checked out and drove home.
