Topwater Grill has the biggest menu of any seafood restaurant I've been to in Galveston County including the island of Galveston. Fish can be ordered topped with any of a half-dozen sauces. Oysters on the half shell are served five ways. Seafood is grilled, blackened, broiled, seared or fried. For the non-seafood diners, there are many options, too - steak, ribs, chicken, pork chops.
In season, large raw oysters are as low as $3.99 a dozen on Monday nights. All this is making me hungry. It's a challenge to decide what to order each time we go.
Get out your GPS. Topwater is at the end of the road on Galveston Bay. It's a large, very casual place.
