“Pleasantly surprised! Great Mid-Week Mexican Food Meal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2013

We had not been to Garcia's before, but had heard good things about it. What a refreshing experience! The dining room, divided into two areas with a bar in the center, was inviting, clean and not too crowded and noisy. (Unlike some larger area Mexican food restaurants).
Our waiter was very personable and attentive. We selected the Stuffed Avocado with chicken, Beef Quesadillas and Chicken Green Enchiladas. All were wonderful!
We plan to return to Garcia's!

“Food good - service not so much”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

The food is toward the better end of the Tex-Mex scale. Too bad. The atmosphere is more like a cafeteria, not much decor and fairly open, so a bit noisy. The service was a bit slow but what tarnished it completely was refilling my water and my young child's water with what may have been discarded alcoholic drinks poured into a pitcher. I pointed this out, no apology was offered. Won't go back.

“Gracias, Garcia's”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2013

We were in Texas for a few days and some friends suggested we meet here for dinner. I admit, when we arrived, it was with some skepticism, after seeing the very commercial-looking building and location right on the frontage road. It looks like an impersonal chain restaurant; one step up from Taco Bell. I guess it is a chain, but if you can get past the cookie-cutter ambiance, the food is really quite good.
I had the stuffed avocados, which were awesome! Others in my party had compuestas, rellenos, and enchiladas. No one complained of a bad meal. We were there on a Saturday night, a party of 6, and everyone's order came out correct, hot and at the same time. I thought that was impressive as they were busy.
This isn't a romantic location, but it was good food. Much better than that hyped up restaurant (that shall remain nameless) at the market in downtown San Antonio, by the way...

“Stuffed avocados make this place a must! Among the BEST Mexican food in the Greater Austin area, especially Round Rock.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2013 via mobile

Outstanding Mexican food, especially since I am comparing it against San Antonio standards. This is some of the best Mexican ever! For example, the stuffed avocados (baked not fried) were truly outstanding. Certainly worth going there just for that. Likewise, the chips and salsa were the best I have had, including all of South Texas. The sauces on the other dishes at our table were amazing! This is REALY good Mexican food. Try the stuffed baked avocados and you will agree. No place better in Austin area.

“Little house - great patio”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2012

Tucked in the backstreets of Downtown Round Rock - this place is a good find.
You can expect more Mexican flavor here than Tex-Mex. Solid Salsa, Enchiladas and chips are not greasy.
If you are thinking about going - you should give it a try.
