On Thurs evening, March 28th, a group of seven of us decided to have dinner at Southern Junction. It was our first time for all of us. We were seated at 7pm and our order was almost immediately taken (we were there for the ribs/steak special). About 30 minutes later, our salad, drinks, and ribs/steak arrived all at the same time. It's nice to get the salad a little earlier so the main course doesn't go cold, but that was OK. The problem was that we sat there for an hour and 15 minutes after that...no waitress asking if we'd like more ribs or steak, no refills of water or pop, no offers for liquor, no one asking if everything was OK... nothing. The table next to us was also becoming frustrated for similar reasons, and all they wanted to do was pay their tab and leave. One of our party had to hunt down our waitress and told her we could use service. When she finally came to our table, most of our appetites were lost. I, frustrated yet courteous, briefly mentioned we lost our appetites as so much time had passed. The waitress response was, "Well I'M SORRY!" That's all. Only one of our party asked for more ribs. A couple of us asked if we could get more water/pop as, we had gone for over an hour with no refills (we were never offered additional drinks during our entire stay). Though our waitress was now visible and seemed available, another half hour passed, no ribs, no pop...nothing. Our dirty salad and rib plates still sat in front of us. The waitress left empty handed after we flagged her down. Half of our party now had the leave. We had to flag the waitress again and asked for the tab. After another half hour, she brought 1/2 of our tab. The gentleman that asked for ribs requested if he could just have them to go. The waitress said "no" as it was policy. That is understandable, but under the circumstances we felt offended. ONE request for seconds out of seven all-you-can-eat meals, and we were refused. After half our party left, our waitress came back 15 minutes later with one serving of ribs, a to-go container on the side, and a Coke that I waited two hours for. I actually felt guilty signing the credit slip with no offering of a tip, but felt that the service problem responsibility fell on the waitress. Now, if I expressed my opinion of Southern Junction, I would state that the atmosphere was good, line dancing was fun (while waiting for the waitress), food quality and price were decent (probably would suggest grilling the steaks oneself for the fun, as the only steak order was requested 'medium' but came well done and a little burnt.), but the service ruined everything. We don't want to be overly rude but, of the seven in our party, none of us are willing to go back. Basically, we did not get what we paid for, and the waitress showed no sign of caring.
