“Love this beach! Lots of jellyfish this time.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

My family and I love this beach. We were in Rockport over the long Labor Day weekend. Unfortunately, this time it was full of jellyfish. No one could swim due to the large amount of jellyfish. The beach is still very nice and very clean. Instead of swimming the kids spent the day catching jellies with their nets and putting them in their beach buckets. We did release them when we left. It's not the beaches fault that the jellyfish were there. It's a beach, sometimes there are jellyfish. We have been going to Rockport Beach Park for years and this is the first time we have encountered this. We will definitely be back! The beach is very shallow, great for kids.

“Relaxing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013 via mobile

The wind was refreshing. The sun was scorching hot. The beach was clean and was totally safe for the kids to build a sand castle. We did find shade and set up camp easily. We picked the perfect spot. The water was inviting.

“Blue Beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

This is an amazing beach. Yes, it is on the bay and some people don't like that. But the bay side beach is very shallow, which is great for kids and those who don't want to get pulled out by waves. There is also a salt water "pool" that is deep enough to get in over your head. It's amazing to swim and get wet with fish jumping around you and sea gulls nesting and feeding nearby. The water is Texas' first Blue Wave Beach, meaning the water quality is pristine, not that the water is crystal clear blue where you are standing. Lots of area so it rarely feels crowded.

Entry is $5 a day for a vehicle but a yearly pass is only $15 so if you plan to be in the area for more than a few days buy the pass. You can also park outside the official park and use the smaller beach.

Lots of herons and egrets, and an occasional spoonbill, feed in the bays and the area is a migratory bird nesting refuge so at certain times you can see baby gulls and skimmers. There are also often kite flyers and/or kite boarders.

“Natural beauty”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

After a 3 hour drive down to the coast you arrive at a small fishing village .Its unique surroundings small buildings and a host of small fishing vessells hudled together in the port . I felt like i was on a scene from "JAWS " without the sharks lol
the ocean is clear and warm I was fortunate to see a dolphin swim passed .

Just up the coast was another hiden gem Aransa pass .
I love to visit this area its a feeling of freedom and nature .
