I do not frequent B&B's, but after our good experience at Rainbow Courts, I might start branching out. We stayed here for two nights for a local wedding and were very pleasantly surprised. The outside doesn't look like much, but the interiors are very nicely done. Our "single room king" cottage was smaller than what we are used to, but was very comfortable once we settled in. It was exactly as depicted in the online photo. Our king bed was great and had nice linens. Our room came with a portable air filter, which I assume all rooms had. The motel is the oldest working in Texas, and is in the process of becoming a State of Texas Historical Site. The property has remained in the same family for years now and it is obvious they are doing a great job of rennovating and maintaining it. There is a nice courtyard area with seating which is where we had a catered dinner Friday evening. Our room had a mini frig, a 4-cup coffee maker with Wolfgang Puck coffee, and complimentary wireless internet. The bath was small, had a tub/shower combo, and had a window that opened. The office provided a Kuerig coffee maker with a variety of coffee and tea, as well as a nice supply of snacks that we helped ourselves to throughout the day. If you want a little more room, try one of the suites. They are all nicely done with a combination of antiques updated with tile flooring and premium linens. My favorite was the Garden Room which was even nicer than the pictures indicated. The bride and groom spent their wedding night there. I might have to return to Rockdale just to stay in the Garden Room at Rainbow Courts!
