We just stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn: Richardson, Texas, as part of a large group for a family event. The hotel itself if new, very clean and bright. The rooms were clean and bright, granite counter tops in the bathroom and the room furnishings were clean and in very good condition. The check in was a bit disappointing as I had called twice (prior to our arrival) asking for an early check-in (at noon). The woman who greeted us at check-in (Marisela) was very unfriendly and told us that our room was not ready. Again..we were in a large block of rooms that had been reserved for a family event. I told her that I had called twice prior to arrival asking for an early check-in and that I was told this shouldn't be a problem. Marisela got on her radio and spoke in Spanish (I couldn't understand her). Marisela then told me that a room was available. I thanked her and we went to our room. EVERY interaction with Marisela after the initial check-in, she was rude!
The fitness room is clean (4 Ellipticals, 2 treadmills and free weights). There are no machines at all. The pool area is nice and clean. Jaccuzi is attached to the pool.
Breakfast available at the hotel. Continental breakfast (large selection of fresh fruit like strawberries, blueberries, blackberies, pineapple, hot oatmeal, cold cereals, yogurts, bagels, english muffins, toast and an assortment of muffins and danishes)...plus Starbucks coffee and assorted teas. Continental breakfast cost $4.95/pp and the made to order breakfast is $9.95. Continental breakfast was perfect.
Beds were fine, comferters were nice and cozy. Feather pillows but you can ask for foam. Shower has very little water pressure. Neutrogena bath products. One minor issue was housekeeping. When left the hotel for 5 hours on Saturday morning, returning to hotel at 2:00pm and room had not been cleaned.
Doesn't matter as this hotel is right along/off a major highway (President George Bush Turnpike)
