We always had dim sum/lunch at this restaurant at least two to three times during our regular month long visits to Richardson. It was probably one of the best dim sum places in Dallas metro area, if not the best. Their weekday price for dim sum at $2.50 per dish was a great bargain, comparing to their weekend prices in tiers. Sundays were usually the most hectic days, especially at around noon or 1 p.m. when most of the customers were post church goers or late risers. The wait for seating was usually pretty long, so plan ahead. The parking lot was not very big either, therefore, parking during busy periods would be also a hassle.
For all those times we visited this restaurant, the food was usually good to excellent, both in presentation and quality. However, there were times that they somehow lost their standards, and food became less attractive. Unfortunately, the consistency for the qualities of the wait staff were more spotty than we would like. About half the times, we would get outstanding services from a good waiter or waitress. The other half the times, we would encounter waiters or waitresses who ranged from inattentive to simply “don’t care”. It was frustrating when we wanted to enjoy a good meal with proper attentions.
All in all, the restaurant was well lit, clean and tables were spaced out comfortably. That was better than the norm for most restaurants serving authentic Chinese menu, including most American cities. As for the variety of dim sum dishes, this restaurant offers more selections than all other Dallas area establishments. Yet, I am not going to claim that they can compete with bigger and fancier dim sum places in San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles or Houston. If you are visiting Dallas area, and are craving for real Chinese food, this should be one of the places on top of your list.
