LOVE this place... we've loved it for years now and we've eaten at just about every Indian restaurant in the Dallas area. The wife and I love to try Indian all over the world... We've had some good (and some bad) in London, Paris, Malaysia, Thailand, etc... oh, and did I mention India? This is still the place we measure all Indian food against, as it's consistently good. Let me re-phrase that, the buffet is very good, but fresh stuff off the menu is truly great (they don't pre-make anything on the menu like some places do). I had to laugh when I read a review saying that this place had old decor (it was remodeled very contemporary about a year or so ago) and another saying that he saw a roach. While I guess a bug is possible (anything's possible), I was looking through the window into the kitchen (side note: how many restaurants let you look into the kitchen if they're unclean?) when I saw a City of Richardson award for Excellence in Food Safety (for high sanitary conditions) that was awarded just a few months ago. It was framed right next to the window into the kitchen (just underneath years and years of awards from D magazine and the Dallas Observer for Best Indian Food in Dallas). You can't go wrong with the lamb boti masala or the chicken tika masala. However, don't miss the lamb samosas or the garlic nan (or the Kheer Badami (rice pudding) for dessert). The owners and staff are always friendly, helpful, and aim to please. PLUS it's BYOB at dinner (for those who like to enjoy some drinks while keeping the bill under control). So, all in all, amazing food with great service and a nice atmosphere. What more could you ask for?
