Myself and my family booked a quick overnight fishing trip to the Indianola Fishing Marina that advertises RV rentals and a fishing dock. Went there this past weekend (May 20th), with two small children age 4 and 8. First, the RV they gave us must have been from 1965. It was old, falling apart and dirty. The TV had one channel, the bedding was sandy and just overall was trashy. There were leftover beer cans right in front of the door, even after the management told us the "maid" had just finished cleaning. For $125 a night!! I should have just booked a rental house (there were several in the outlying area). The employees at the cash register didn't seem to know what they were doing, so I didn't even bother to complain about the condition of the RV.
The marina itself isn't even that. The place is literally a mom and pop convenience store where fisherman can buy beer and bait, and where anglers and put in. That's it. We tried the food, since there is a small kitchen inside the store. I wasn't expecting much, and it was marginal at best. Granted I wasn't looking for gourmet, and it certainly wasn't.
We tried fishing from the dock and the kids had fun catching small bait fish. The adults never really caught anything significant, but it was our kids first fishing experience and they seemed to have fun.
