I searched and searched online for a condo in this adorable beach town. Most of what I found was outdated and shabby, but then I stumbled upon photos of Gulf Shores Condos Unit 207. The photos looked nicer than any I had seen, and the condo claimed to be on the beach. I booked for 4 nights, and I was not disappointed. Four adults and two children stayed comfortably in this two bedroom two bathroom beach front condo. The decor was rich and beautiful. The 18 inch tiles and updated counter tops were a nice, modern touch. The building is older, but fairly well maintained. The rental fee is high compared to newer beach towns, but normal for Port Aransas. The large balcony had an amazing view, and you are almost directly on the beach, except for a small dune. As far as Texas beaches go, this was standard, but very clean. I will never understand why Port A allows cars on the beach, but it is what it is. The condo pool was clean, and the landscaping was lovely. There is a BBQ pit with 4 grills and picnic tables. Guest laundry consisted of one washer and one dryer. Fortunately, I was the only guest using it during my stay. The whirlpool bathtub in the guest bath didn't work, but it is not advertised as an amenity so we didn't complain. The staff won't be winning any awards for hospitality, but they were not rude. Overall we were quite pleased with the find, especially considering we booked 3 weeks ahead of our stay. If you are looking for a beautifully furnished condo on the beach, this is your unit!
