The RUDEST place in Port A! After booking a room for 2 nights, I was awoken by the lady(?) at the front desk demanding that I had to to go and sign my credit card receipt for the second night before 11 am or I would be charged a penalty. I tried to explain that I would come by right after my shower and she yelled NO! and hung up the phone. That day we didn't get maid service. Also they ask for a cash deposit which they may or may not return. Check-out time is 11 am and there is a fee for late check-out. Avoid this place at all costs!

I stayed and for the price the only problem I had was a loud a/c that kept me from sleeping . That was just a one night stopping point though until we went to South Padre Island Blvd the next day to check-inn there.

I saw no roaches. There was no deposit required. It had a stove and we cooked dinner. The drinks we needed were kept cold in the refrigrerator so we didn't have to go anywhere to eat. I brought my coffee maker to make my own coffee. But it was fine, like I said for the price.

I reserved a room for the weekend of JUly 8th 2005 and after reading the rewiews i decided to stay somewhere else. When i called to cancel 3 weeks in advance the VERY RUDE LADY told me there was a 25 dollar charge. i had canceled 3 weeks early why was i charged 25 dollars when i canceled so early, she said there is a 25 $ minimum charge. i told her i was not going to pay because i canceled early she said they would charge my credit card. where does she get off charging me for canceling 3 weeks early. now i can see if i canceled 1 day early but i did not. THAT PLACE SUCKS never stay there with the rusde people you deserve to be treated better when you go on vacation. don't let them treat you bad.

I actually stayed at the good ol' Rock Cottages sometime ago, and I would have thought that things would have HAD to make a turn for the better, however after reading a recent review written about it, I see,..... some things never change. I had a nightmare of an experience at the Rock Cottages. It started off with a room that smelled of dead fish along with hard beds that had holes in the middle and trash piled all around the outside of our building. After deciding to make the best of it and loading the fridge with our entire supply of beverages, we also found that the fridge smelled of fish as well as the mouths of our drinks that had been in it. Needless to say we did not stay a second night, and did not get our money back-NEVER.......EVER.....stay at the Rock Cottages in Port Aransas, TX!
