“Locals go here for breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

If you want a reasonable priced breakfast that is pretty darn good then go here. This is where all the locals go so that always tells you something.

“Honest opinion”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2012

We went for dinner and sadly were disappointed. Read the reviews and decided to go which is why I am writing this honest review. We had fried shrimp and seafood combo that were 18.99 each. It was all grocery store frozen food. You get a salad or coleslaw and two sides. The salad was a small portion of iceberg lettuce with carrot shreds and one thin tomato slice. The corn on the cob was mushy frozen half cobs and the broccolli was frozen cuts. The baked potato was still very firm. The breading on the seafood was too heavy and the crab cake was made with imitation crab. Maybe breakfast is a good meal for this restaurant but I can't trust that. The 2 waitstaff were very sweet and the probably 10 year old bus boy was too. I wish I could be more positive but I want to give an honest review. We will not go back.

“Pros and Cons”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2012

First of all, I have to give this place points for not being crowded on a holiday weekend. With that said, it's often said when a place has very little business, there's a reason.

Pros: Great value (quantity vs. price), friendly staff, nice quiet environment, clean.
We were in town on a holiday weekend, with 6 adults and two very small children (3 years and 2 months old) so we needed a place that was very family-friendly and had no wait. They met both requirements...very important to parents in the late evening.

Cons: only one salt water fish option- otherwise catfish, and not much option in how it's cooked, crab cakes didn't come with remoulade sauce- none anywhere in the house. That was a big dissapointment for me. Baked potato wasn't cooked all the way (hard/dry) and only came with butter and sour cream upon request.

My sister had the chicken fried chicken and loved it. My brother had blackened grouper, my mom had fried shrimp and my dad had blackened catfish and husband had the fish PoBoy. All said they enjoyed it. I will say the seasoned fries are yum!!

So if you are looking for a family-friendly place to enjoy an evening with decent food, you'll enjoy this stop.

“Deep Fried Mass Quantities”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2012 via mobile

If you like deep fried food and lots of it, you will like this place. If not, go somewhere else. The atmosphere is non-existent. The menu is limited. The side dishes have no character. But you do get a lot for your money.

“Free dessert!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2012

This is a nice little diner with good fresh food in the middle of Port A. The free strawberry cake for dessert was a nice touch, felt like eating with family. Staff was friendly.
