“One word, Incredible”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2014

My husband and I visited Port Royal for close to 2 weeks in Jan. Our stay was split up between a 2 bdrm and 3 bdrm, both were super clean, beautiful view of ocean in 3 bdrm and the 2 bdrm had a view of pools and ocean, both were breathtaking. Very welcoming and warm accommodations, well-kept and stocked with everything we needed to make meals when we chose to. All we had to do was provide the food, seafood pretty much from ocean to table. Port Aransas is a quaint beach town, where after a while I imagine everyone would know your name. Restaurants were plentiful and many fed us well. Location was great for dolphin excursions, paragliding and picnics on the beach. Weather was perfect everyday we were there except 2, we were beyond thrilled! Corpus and S Padre Island are close and had some neat things to do. Our favorite was riding horses on the beach, what a thrill of a lifetime! Whenever we returned to our condo the staff was ready for us. The condos are all getting a face lift or have one already and wont disappoint, top notch. The Bistro, on site was nice for a close meal. Whatever we needed the staff was on it delivering the kind of hospitality that makes you feel like your special, we both needed that and appreciated it! Guest relations, housekeeping and maintenance were business like with a hug. Everyone was friendly and there to please. If you want a condo on the ocean we certainly recommend and vouch for Port Royal, wish I could give them 10 stars, yes, it was that good.
Thank You Port Royal for a trip we will never, ever forget. You helped make two 50ish people (thats all Im saying) feel good to be alive! We will be back ASAP.

Room Tip: Ask for a condo on top floor with a covered deck and straight on view of the ocean.

Just went for a 3 night stay and even tho' the weather turned COLD & WINDY...it was a great trip. The staff let us know if there was anything we needed just let them know. The booking and reception area was friendly and efficient, We did want Maintenance to check out the heater, and he was prompt and courteous. there was nothing wrong and he was very good about that and, also helped loosen the lock on the door so. I could turn it, the salt air corrosion had made it difficult to open. He was very nice.
The lady, I think Johanna, working in the gift shop was a joy. I bought my coffee from her every day, and she was very friendly and the coffee was good. The only Area I was not happy with! was the Bistro, not as friendly or even seeming to want business. But I did not end up buying even coffee from them..so....
Overall, the Condo was great. A little older but perfectly CLEAN, and comfortable.

I paid 250 dollars for 2 days including tax. I did not like it.

Pro:

The pool is good. Decent Sofa and couple of tvs are notably good.
Washer and dryer are good too.
Staff are good, they spoke very helpful. They helped me find places to visit around the hotel.

Con:
Very bad bed, broken and extremely shaky. First night gone.
Second day, i called up for maintenance. They fixed something, yet it was still very badly shaky. Very disturbing.
Water in Pool: Too sticky. Your body becomes kind of very dry and feel itchy.

Comforter - believe they bought it atleast 3 years back. Very worn out and dry. I complained yet no change.

Parking- Open parking, even though there were atleast 300 open covered parking lots left unused. I paid 100 dollars a day, yet i was treated so cheap.

There were several good pool viewing rooms available on the 3rd and 4th floor, ocean viewing rooms available. Yet they give you room on the second floor which is not as scenic as shown in the pictures.

Bottom line: They give you discounted price, we think it is seasonal discount. But they treat us cheap.

I would have stayed in better hotels considering i spent 250 dollars for 2 nights stay.

Stayed for three nights over Christmas. As soon as we walked into the reception area to check in, we were greeted by Santa who gave us each a wrapped gift. What a nice touch. Right on the beach. Our three bedroom, 2 bathroom and 2 balcony condo was very nice, large, updated and clean (4301). Well stocked kitchen and washrooms. Had everything you need to have an enjoyable stay. The grounds were well maintained. Pool area was beautiful and enormous. Something you would find at a Caribbean resort. We enjoyed the one heated pool and whirl pools when the weather was cool. All staff were friendly and helpful. Had one issue and it was dealt with immediately and in a professional manner. Enjoyed the brunch buffet at the restaurant (on 2nd floor). The complex is showing its age in some ways, did spend a lot of money updating the pool area and it looks great!

The exceptional staff made our stay relaxing after we had car trouble. We ended up staying a 2nd night with a special offer from the website. We really enjoyed the heated pools and hot tubs. The ocean water was chilly but the beach was beautiful for a stroll and quiet without the overcrowding of tourists. The condos are all fun to stay in. Decorated differently and most are updated. Wonderful time!

The pool was the highlight before, and now with the upgrades it is incredible. Feels like you are at an exotic topical locale, even though it's the Texas beaches and not the Caribbean. The rooms vary dramatically. Just make sure to book an updated unit with tile, granite, etc. It doesn't cost extra, but you need to ask or you'll be randomly assigned to a unit. If you have school age kids, there is no other place better in Texas.

It's a fun place for swimming and the slide is great…they now have a heated pool which is nice. They allow smoking by the pool. In my opinion that brings a place down several notches.
The food in the little inside grill is expensive and not so great. Coffee was $4, but in the port store right across the lobby it's $1!!!! That irritated me.
The beds in the condo we stayed in were horrible. Both sagged or leaned to one side and the rooms need black out curtains.
Otherwise, it's fine. Good place I guess for a big family. The rooms are huge.

Room Tip: ask for a room with a new bed if sleep is important to you...
