“Serene but dirty”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2014

The water is so relaxing to look at but I wish visitors were not so trashy. There was clothing and trash strewn all over the place.

“Not much seaweed, warm water”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2014

We stayed at the Sandcastle (mid-August) and the beach was nice. There was some seaweed, but it was not bad - we easily stepped around it. The water was warm, the waves were decent, the wind was cool, and the weather was perfect. We didn't find any good seashells though. The only negative was that the city trucks were working around us and making lots of noise - but they eventually moved on.

“Last minute vacation!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2014

The beach is great, just use common sense when you drive in the sand please. Many people were getting stuck in the 52-58 markers in the free sections of the beach. Don't drive in loose sand if you don't have 4x4!

“It's a trip....driving beach ..fun but can be crowded”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2014

If you want to bring your beach gear, coolers, etc and either fish or people-watch you will love it. Gets very busy during the summer season but is still loads of fun. If taking the ferry over from Aransas Pass, allow lots of extra time in the summer..waits are often over one hour.

Have fun.

“Great”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2014

August equals no sea weed...some sand dollars... No crowds and perfect sand. Coming again next year for the 26th time minus Port Royal
