“Ok option in Plano”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2014

Steve Field's steakhouse is a typical steakhouse, with very good steak and only ok appetizers and sides. The three of us had different types of steak, and all three were very good but a bit the pricy side (betwen $44 and $49). But we were all disappointed with the appetizers which were average; we had the Ceasar salad and the wedge. But the real disappointment were the sides: tipyccally, steakhouse sides are excellent and of a size to share. This certainly wasn't the case. 6 medium sized asparagus, a single serving of ok mashed potatoes, etc. the chocolate cake was a very big piece, to share. Atmosphere was nice, with a packed piano bar to wait. The wine list is decent, but not extravagant. In the end, we believe that we had a good meal but paid way too much money.

“Delicious!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2014

Great, great atmosphere, service, drinks, live piano and food. This is definitely a place for 45's+. The servings are quite large... so you need to be a good eater. Caesar salad is for 3 people... DELICIOUS!!

“Nice option in Dallas”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2014

I went with friends while in Dallas for the Final Four and, other than that the owner is a Kentucky fan, can't say anything bad about it. We unexpectedly added two people to our party from what we had reserved and the restaurant graciously accommodated us. My porterhouse was nicely salted and peppered and very generous. The wine selection was good and dessert, especially the key lime pie, was delicious. All in all, a good place to dine with friends.

“Disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2014

This was not our first visit having had great past experiences with the food and atmosphere. We opted to dine in the bar where the service from our servers was outstanding and the atmosphere was fun. The food, however, was not the star this visit. Started with the lobster bisque. Not sure if it was housemade or not, but tasted ok but very rich(thick). The stuffed lobster was filled with crawfish, shrimp and lobster and looked promising. It lacked or needed a sauce and was dry, as if sitting under a heat lamp. The sea bass special was served with a heavy bernaise sauce, which overwhelmed the texture of the fish and made what should have been a light, tasty dish, heavy. We should have stuck with what Steve Field's does best--steak and will do that next time.
