“Enjoyed my stay very much”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

I recently was passing through Plainview and came across the Reddy Hotel. I was so tired so I stopped to see the prices for an extended stay hotel the price was very reasonable. I also enjoyed the room itself it was clean and very welcoming. I will definitely stay again when i am in Plainview.

This place sucks. Not that anything was particularly horrible if i was at a 29.99 a night roach motel. But this place charges more than double that price. 2 people in our party called ahead separate days to check rates at various motels in town and were quoted 350 a week as a standard rate here. When we arrived we were told our 9 day stay would come to 661 dollars total and acted like they had no idea where we got our quoted number from. after some going back and forth the manager agreed to call the owner to see if they can honor the rate they quoted us. a full 24 hours later we were told they would honor the weekly rate, but the nightly rate for the last 2 days would be much higher than they told us on the phone. we reluctantly agreed. On the first day, we wanted to use their advertised "business center" to print out stuff for the work we were doing there. Turns out, the "business center" is just using the front desks computer and printer. and by the way....the printer was broken too and had been for some time and they didnt know when it would get fixed, so we were directed to try the holiday inn's printer down the street. In the morning we got up to enjoy the advertised "continental breakfast". There was coffee, and a container of cheerios. no bowls. no milk. no spoons. there was a fridge, which was empty. and a warmer maybe for eggs, but nothing in it. Unless you consider coffee and dry cheerios eaten by hand to be breakfast, you are gonna be disappointed. There were dogs that barked when their owners left and woke us up at 5am (could happen anywhere i guess, not specifically the motels fault). the stairway doors are super heavy and slam hard and very loud. we of course had a room next to the stairs, though it was loud enough we heard the slams when people went out the doors on the opposite end of the hallway too. No vending machines for candy. though you can buy candy bars from the front desk during the day when it was manned (if you like milky way, as that was the only choice we had) The room was decent enough. the carpet was stained (the hotel said this was a popular place for hunters and sometimes they clean their game in the rooms). Kitchenettes (stoves...but no pans so bring your own cookware). a small dresser with 3 small drawers, enough for overnight stay, but very small for a motel that caters to extended stays. Decent beds that were clean, internet, tv all that. We found they dont come service your room during your stay (not even to take out the garbages), we took our own garbage out to the dumpsters and just went to the front desk for more towels and toilet paper. There wasnt anything particularly HORRIBLE about the room. Im sure this review makes me sound picky and entitled, which im not. ive stayed at WAY worse places than this. But for a 70 dollar a night motel in a small town, i expected something more. There were other motels in town that were rundown and offered 200 a week rates or less, but we chose this because of the amenities and agreed to pay more for them. none of the amenities were fulfilled, and we were left feeling like we paid nice chain hotel prices for a seedy cheapo motel. Oddly enough, their business cards had the tagline "we do the little things that guests love". and it was all the little things that made this a place i would highly recommend AGAINST staying in.

Room Tip: helpful room tip - try the holiday inn.

This was one of the strangest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in. No one at the the front desk when we arrived, but there was a phone that you pick up that buzzes the manager. The pictures on the website don't lie. This might be somewhere that you would want to stay for an extended stay because of the full kitchen/refrigerator that the rooms offer - if you can get over the super tall ceilings (probably 18ft plus). It felt like a big box. The rooms were clean (which is a MUST for me) but for the price paid, I expected much more.

Room Tip: If you are bothered by the noise of your "upstairs neighbors" request a room on the second...
