We had visited this park pre-Covid and enjoyed all the activities with our grandkids in 2018. There was a lot to see and do including a mini barrel ride, Safari ride through the back acreage that was narrated to learn about all the animals and much more. Well this visit that was all gone “due to Covid”. They are both OPEN AIR rides. Totally outside. This go round was much less fun for our grandkids. We went on a Saturday and not even the snack bar was open. It is basically a little zoo with a small playground fir over $100. Gainesville zoo is much nicer and other for the money with a gigantic city park right outside the gate. Go there instead!!

Nice tram ride, able to feed and pet some animals. Petting zoo was fun for the kids. Not much to the shows. Interaction with the employees-male on tram was great fun. Female at the petting zoo also fun. The other female is why only four stars.

My Son and Daughter were with me and we had a nice time there. We got there around 9:15 AM early on Labor day and only a few other families where there. The goats in the petting area are a bit over aggressive if you have a bog of food. We were able to watch them feed the Lion's , Tiger and bear Oh my.. :-)

A nice partial petting zoo for kids. It's a private zoo with a decent variety of animals. It was enjoyed by our 3 YO grandson, parents, & grandparents. Some animals can be fed by the visitors with feed provided. Especially with young children, you'll have fun.

It was a nice small zoo/ rescue.
They have lots of animals you can feed which is fun. They have a splash pad and playground which would be great with younger kids.
The tiger is gorgeous!
The place seems clean and well run. It was a good experience.

This is not a typical zoo. It is a USDA regulated wildlife ranch. If you want to be licked by a camel or a goat, go visit! The animals were well cared for and they all seemed happy. The staff was the nicesest group of people I have met in a long time.

Very poor experience. The food and show may be great, but we will never know due to a very rude owner who refused to honor a Groupon.
Save your money and save your time trekking out to this place!

The ranch overall is enjoyable and we had fun feeding the animals. I appreciate they are caring for these creatures. However, I did find it very irritating to buy my tickets online and then have to stand in line of a half hour to get in. I bought my tickets online as well as feed and when I got there still had to buy feed again, because my tickets didn't reflect all purchases made. The whole online buying is worthless because you have to wait in line anyway and any extras bought aren't shown on the ticket and you have to pay again.

Took grand kids for a few hours. Enjoyed the tractor ride. And mostly camels.
Unfortunately we told kids they would be able to see & hold lemurs. Only to find that we could barely see them from a distance. And that we would have to pay $55.00 a person to get up close!
Waited over an hour to get pizzas. Waitresses very nice. But all pizzas very sweet. No one liked.
Had a nice time but would not recommend.

This is definitely a mom & pop type of attraction. It's about an hour north of Dallas. My girlfriend found a Groupon for this place which is how we heard about it. The Groupon seemed to be a great deal, but they didn't tell you about the mandatory $5 you have to pay for parking at the front gate. Gotta look out for the hidden expenses.
You can buy animal feed to feed some of the animals (they have signs on the fences letting you know which you can and cannot feed), but it's clear some of the animals become accustomed to this and get a bit aggressive. One girl had her fingers bit by a horse trying to get the food, and I had a camel headbutt me tried to nibble my arm because I couldn't get the feed out fast enough.
They do have two black bears on display and they do a presentation periodically (I wasn't there long enough to figure out how often), but they don't have a PA system set up so it was hard to hear the presenter as he walked back and forth with all the people chattering behind.
There was a petting zoo, but I was so disheartened to see how stressed the animals in there looked having to put up with kids playfully patting them. I know the kids didn't mean any harm, but you could definitely tell the animals weren't comfortable.
In short, I would have much rather seen these animals in a larger zoo where one knows they're being cared for by properly trained experts.
For disabled visitors, most of the ramps are metal grates so it'll be difficult to get your wheelchair, scooter, or walker over as the smaller wheels will get stuck.

I hate snakes. Can we avoid seeing them during our visit?
JanHtx2015
Dallas, TX38 contributions
Yes, just skip the presentations in the pavilion area that are on snakes. Catch the meet and greet on lemurs, instead of the ones on snakes or reptiles.
The horse and zebra mixtures are they actually half horse half zebra?

Yes, this is much like a mule is a donkey and horse mix.
Will you be open on March 7?
LizaFly1266
Omaha, NE442 contributions
Their website says that they will be open on the 7th. This isn't a drive through wildlife park. They have pens with animals at the front and then they take you out in a trailer to two - three fields that house zebras, horses, giraffes. Fossil Rim Wildlife Safari has the drive through with all the wild animals.
