Fox Meadows was a great weekend getaway for us. We only stayed one night so our price was higher and $159 for a single night seemed pretty pricey for a place so far from everything. We were riding a motorcycle and the mud/gravel drive was a bit treacherous. Check in was easy and we were glad to get out of the sweltering Texas heat and into our air conditioned home away from home. The place was immaculate and quite comfortable. Breakfast was a selection of fruit, milk, juice, sweet rolls and microwaveable croissant sandwiches. It was delicious. The bed was really comfortable and we slept well under the ceiling fan. The grounds have marked trails, but we didn't utilize them. We liked the place, but would certainly investigate cheaper options in the area when we are in the area again.
Room 1 & 2 are in Annie's House and are closest to the entrance.

Thank you very much. I appreciate you writing our first review on Tripadvisor. We have been in business for ten years and have many previous excellent reviews from bed and breakfast sites and from several newspapers in Texas including, Dallas, Houston, and Austin.

I am so glad you enjoyed your stay. Our houses are wonderfully furnished and clean. I am sorry you felt you did not get the value you expected. I am sure you appreciated the added value of staying in a furnished house not a room and your motorcycle and equipment being protected on private property with a guard gate. Our one night stay price is higher because of our amenities and cleaning costs. We have to clean the house whether you stay one night or ten but the cost is a much lower spread over a number of days. Those who stay one night also lose the ability to enjoy the many outdoor amenities that add to the value. Enjoying our 55 acres with 3.5 miles of hiking trails and our 4 acre lake requires more than an overnight stay. We hope you are able to return to Fox Meadows as many others do. Perhaps then you can enjoy the peace, the beauty of nature, and the sound of silence that is Fox Meadows.
