Outdoor style eating - cute staff of young people - generous portions - very good sides - nice entrees. The biggest surprise for me was the cocktails. We had a dirty martini and a mojito - both fantastic. I had a ribeye that I had to send back - the waitress probably chose medium well instead of medium rare - but pushed blame off on kitchen. It was returned just how i wanted it and it was fine. I think the problem was really the size of the steak . A little thin maybe 1/2 inch think instead if the 3/4 I was expecting - but it was fine. The wurst plate was interesting - the sausage almost sweet. Onion rings were great - but huge. All the sides were outstanding. Trout entree was a little overdone but fine. The staff are kids so you need to allow for that - they are trying hard but not terribly professional. The mojito was like nothing I have ever had before - grapefruit sections and some grape fruit juice - not much - really complimented the traditional mojito mint and lime tastes. Very gorgeous and highly recommended cocktail. Nice restaurant - don't be in a hurry or too formal. They took care of every issue that arose and we had a fine time. Would be happy to return next time we are in Gruene.
