This motel was awful! It was in a good location and fairly clean, but that is about all. When we got checked into our room and moved in, we discovered 3 lights did not work. We called the front desk and they told us they would send maintenance down. While waiting for them to arrive, we were setting up my husband's C-Pap breathing machine and discovered the plugs by the bed did not work. Since maintenance had never arrived and it had been over an hour, I went to the front desk. The clerk told me he would be right down. He came down and replaced one light bulb and told me the other 2 lights were broken. He tested the plug and informed me it did not work (duh). He said he would bring an extension cord down to plug in the C-Pap machine. He then offered to let us move to another room, but we had already unpacked and he said they did not have anymore rooms available downstairs, which is what we had requested on our reservation. The continental breakfast had very limited choices and there was only one tiny table in the breakfast area, so everyone down there was eating standing up. When we checked out I requested a discount on the room since it was in such poor state and the clerk said he did not know anything about discounts. The staff was very droll and unfriendly as well. We will NOT stay at this motel again.

We were in town to do a wedding at The Hideout. After we realized our rooms that had been booked for us at the BRAND NEW Sleep Inn were only 2nd floor rooms, it would not allow us to function properly in preparing the florals for this wedding. After driving all day, that evening the Bride told us to try and find a room with ground floor entrance. After driving over New Braunfels, with limited source of paying, we found the Best Value Inn and was told it was $59 a night, however since we would be staying 3 nights in 2 rooms, that we could have it for $49 a night. It was not necessarily the worst place we had been at, however it was pushing it to be the worst. We decided to stay since it would work for what we needed. It did have a very unpleasant odor about the room. Very bad paint with cigarette burns in these non smoking rooms. The first night was MICE night out as they were having a party in the walls. The second night the MICE were afraid as the COCKROACHES would not be outdone. The third night we were afraid to even look for anything bigger. The ROACHES were already the size of a childs loafer. The morning coffee was a cross between syrup, coffee, week old coffee grounds and bad tasting water. Even cream and sugar was no match for it. As for the continental breakfast the day old donut special was past the day old. What else can I say about this place other than I would have to be homeless to stay here again.

When I opened the door I could see cracked tile below the worn carpet. It was easilly seen because there was no thershold over the doorway. Setting down the bags I relized this room had never been worth the $100 A night that We paid. The closet rod bent, bowed, and rusty fit perfectly with the peeling plaster and missing paint. In the bedroom the water stains on the ceiling where large and brown. The no smoking sign was on the door, but there were several long burn marks on the dresser. Poor craftmaship showed everywhere. From the way the sheetrock was floated to the picture of the flowers in a vase mounted UPSIDE DOWN with over size screws. I would not use or even get to close to the ice machine, so I don't know if it worked. But cleaning it could start at a car wash. The walls between rooms had to be thin You could hear conversations going in the other room and often it sounded like people were in our room. That actually bothered Me more than mice that ran in the cieling tiles in the early AM hours. At breakfast there was No one around that worked there to be found. The coffee actually looked like an oily black syrup. I did not would not even try it. Giving credit to anyone would have to be the Housekeeper who cleaned the sink and bath area. The only thing positive about Our stay was it was only 19 hours. Most spent asleep or away.

OMG! Is what comes out of my mouth when I think of this nice vacation. Nice if you like mice running around in your room. Over your feet when you step out of the shower. Bugs, The kitchen was so filthy you wouldn't think or dare to put food into this area. (rm 117 to be precise). Everyday was getting worse and worse. There was a worm in the room that crawled across the floor like a snake. It was at least a foot long and I being from Texas know things are big in Tx but geeessshhhhh.. You had to beg for towels and if you could understand the guy at the front you could figure it out how to get them.. otherwise you got nada. By the time I was fed up with my 4 night stay and finally visited with the front desk. It was like no big deal. Your leaving anyway.

We stayed 3 days and was suppose to stay another but we got tired of calling and trying to get someone to clean the room. We had to call every night to get clean towels. we had already paid for a 4th night, but we got tired of everything and left with out using the room. We decided that losing $70 for the last night was a lesson well learned the hard way.
