“Excellent!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2008

We had the pleasure of staying at this hotel in July of 2008. We met the managers of this hotel and were impressed with the professional and friendly service. The staff was friendly as well and the hotel was in an excellent location just off the freeway. Our room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and am looking forward to staying here again soon.

We checked in on Friday to find that all our towels, folded as if clean, were dirty. I noticed that the free amenities in the bathroom, i.e., shampoo, conditioner, lotion, were all reused and contained no seals. When we started for bed later that night we removed the bedspread and discovered that the blanket underneath was soiled in various spots with some kind of white crusty stain. Clearly this was not a clean blanket. The sheets were no better. We could actually rub away surface dirt from the fitted sheet. The hotel seemed to be staffed by either temporary or part-time staff who were of little help. When we asked for fresh linens we were told that the hotel was full and that all the bed linen was being used. We got the same answer for our request for clean towels. Later that night, our smoke detector started beeping at 2am and when we called the front desk they instructed us to just remove the battery. Surely this is a fire code violation! We asked for a replacement battery and were told there were none. They staff member warned that there would be a short delay after we removed the battery before the beeping would stop. The beeping continued. We called the front desk again 20 minutes later and were then instructed to disconnect the wires. Yeah, that was definitely a fire code violation! Needless to say, we packed up and checked out of our room. It was 3am.

  • Liked — The government/state rate I received.
  • Disliked — The cleanliness of the hotel room and its amenities was terrible.

The Quality Inn and Suites New Braunfels was the best hotel I have stayed at! There was great breakfast including waffles, cereal, fruit, danishes, and much more. The indoor pool and jacuzzi was very soothing and relaxing. The fitness room with a TV was nice. The room was very clean with a nice decor. It was close to many attractions like Schlitterbahn and restaurants. The staff was great and very helpful. We would recommend it to our friends and family. I definately would stay here again.

As new parents, traveling with the baby for the first time, we decided to splurge a little and go for a higher standard than our usual choices. This was not worth the extra cost. There were old dried-up food chunks on the carpet. The hangers in the closet were broken. The showerhead was mildewy. The sheet in the crib did not fit the mattress. I forgot a toothbrush, but they do not have the common convenience of providing one. Overall, no major problems, good breakfast, clean bed; but extra "Quality" is not to be expected here.

the room was comfortable and clean, great shower. Breakfast was ok. We would stay here again, but probably have breakfast at the Friesenhaus Restaurant on Castell.

I did not expect Ritz Carlton service or Four Seasons ambience - just a clean room with fresh linens and a little something to eat for breakfast.

This place was disgusting (take a look at the picture of the blanket that was on the mattress of the fold out couch).

I asked for a rollaway - I called the property directly to lock in that request. No rollaway.

I reserved a king with a foldaway - again directly with the hotel; no king.

I requested extra sheets and blankets to make a pallet on the worn out, stained carpet in the room and got damp sheets and tattered blankets (see photo).

The tiny breakfast room was filthy and overrun with guests. We opted out.

My expectations going in were low; and I was not disappointed. Then again, what could one expect for $147 a night?
