“Bumpy at first”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2012

My boyfriend and I rode our motorcycle from 5 1/2 hours away, we were ready to get in a nice cold room. When we went to our room, the door was jammed and wouldn't open. Lady at the front desk came and miraculously opened the door. That was bump #1. Went to wash my face and our since proceeded to overflow....let the lady at the front desk know and she has someone in our room fixing the problem within 20 minutes. That was bump #2. I had originally booked for a non-smoking room but through Expedia some things were changed and we got a smoking room. I didn't mind so much because I am a smoker myself, just don't like staying in smoker rooms because of the stale cigarette smell...which this room had. That was bump #3. Once everything was fixed, the stay was great. Bed was wonderful and very comfy pillows. AC gets VERY COLD. Breakfast in the morning was nice, pool was great and clean and it's right next door to an Applebee's for quick food. Over all stay was very good.

Room smelled like moldy towels. Mold visible under wallpaper around window. Sheets had what looked like blood stain. Got second room. Still smelled, but not AS bad. We were too tired to change again. Crickets in room. Next day , found HUGE cockroach running around. Killed it, and took it to the front desk. They did not have much to say at all. I WILL NOT stay again, and we will be coming to that area again. Not recommended AT ALL!! We travel alot with kids sports, but will never again book a room from this place. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!!

You never know what you're going to get when you book a hotel in the $100 range...It's scary. We usually stay in 5 star boutique type accomodations. Well, we were pleasently surprised by the Baymone Inn in New Braunfels. We decided last minute to take the kids to Schlitterbahn for a surprise trip before school started. We were able to secure a suite with 2 queen beds and a sleeper sofa. Perfect for the 6 of us. The linens were clean, the room was large and smelled fresh and the bathroom was clean and tidy. The front desk clerk was friendly and helpful. The furniture and linens appeared to be fairly new and in great shape. The beds were comfortable. The kids loved making their own waffles at the breafast bar. We would definitely stay here again.

I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel was clean and decently priced. It was close to the things we wanted to do. There was a slight odor to the room but nothing overwhelming. Check in was a little discouraging because the young man at the front desk was a little more interested in his phone than assisting us with any questions.

Not a bad place to stay for our two night stay in New Braunfels. Our first room was a little smelly when we checked in but the front desk moved us to another room no questions asked when we approached them about it. The breakfast bar was ok, the attendant did a great job of restocking muffins and such. There are no eggs or bacon, but they do have yogurt, cereal, coffee, tea, and some other baked goods. It's not the Four Seasons but it works!

Pleasantly surprised, very nice room with dedicated computer user space, welcoming front desk, easy access off I-35. Small breakfast bar, plenty of parking, no service or security issues. Everything worked as it was supposed to work. This was a quick solo road trip, but will use again when doing tourist stuff nearby with family - as there are much worse places to stay in New B off the interstate (do your homework).

Room Tip: Found it through Hotels.com for cheapest late rate.

Everything was ok upon Checking inn. Once we got in the suite we realized the couch bed was in terrible condition with the spring sticking through it. We called downstairs and asked for a roll away bed and were told they didn't have one. The worker on duty that night admitted to complaints about the sofa beds and that the manager didn't seem to want to fix the issue. They offered us some extra blankets to pad the sofa bed. The 2nd evening we returned to the hotel to find out our keys weren't working. I went downstairs and waited for 10+ minutes at the desk for someone to help me. The guy working the desk was outside hanging out by the pool. Later that night we needed more towels to shower with, I called downstairs and asked for more towels. I was told " I am to busy right now, you will have to come get them yourself." Once I got down there the guy was just sitting in the chair doing nothing. Overall we had a terrible experience at this hotel. Things seemed unorganized and poorly managed.
