This is a lovely little park that offers both fun and relaxation year round. The fun activities include: train ride, paddle boat rental, playground areas (I saw 3 of those, all large and with brand new equipment), lovely riverside walks, locating the "Secret Chimney." Relaxation: picnicking or just hanging out in the old gazebo on the water or by the ancient Live Oak in the middle of the park: you can't miss that one, it is so huge that they've had to build supports for some of its limbs. There is a time capsule buried there. It is only one of several exceptional tree specimens in the park. You will also see lots of buzzards, ducks and geese. Parking is ample and very convenient.
