“Wayyyy tooooo crowded”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2011

It can't be said any straighter than the title....just too many people. We chose to go on a Monday, but it was absurd. We went on 3 rides, and were there for over 6 hours, stopped briefly for lunch. Master Blaster.....forget it. Estimate we got was about 2-1/2 hours. Went on Dragon's Revenge, Dark Knight and the Straw body slide thing ont he old side. All were OK, nothing overly spectacular, but fun. We spent time on the rivers, at Surfendorf and Bastenhoff, they were fun actually (at least kept us cool), but again, just absurdly crowded. I was actually amazed at how clean the water is there, considering all the people, and even the place, in general, is reasonably well kept. The east side places we liked better, just because the Comal River used a lot on the old side was cold....and the place was just ridiculously packed, and not the greatest of signs as to where to go, for the rides. The only thing they could to EVER get us to go back again would be to limit the number of people. Once they hit a certain #, that's it.....and I'm sure the $$ will never allow them to do that, so forget it. And the rides were nothing spectacular, they were just so-so. And Master Blaster would have to be better than orgasm if I am going to stand in line for 2 to 3 hours for a minute or two ride (sorry kids). In general, place is overrated, could be halfway decent, but just wayyyy tooooo crowded.

“Beware”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2011

BEWARE.....SCHLITTERBAHN Resort now charges EVERY guest a $25 a "Stay and Play" fee per night whether you go to the water park or not! Maybe it should be called "Stay and Pay" instead. If you decide to do something other than the waterpark during your stay at the resort, you still have to pay Schlitterbahn, too!

“Great experience, many things to do, lifeguards tend to be more rude then what they should be...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2011 via mobile

We had a great time, spent easily 6 hours there one day. The very first ride we rode was the White Water float and about the 5th lifeguard was a small boy who looked me straight in the eyes and asked ''what do you think you are looking at??'' and I said, well that was a great way to start the day at the waterpark!! Just a small child being immature. I'm sure he will grow up one day and realize how to properly treat people...

“Good park, but way to crowded!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2011

Coming from a teenager, the rides were great and unique! However, im judging from the 4 rides we actually got to go on because of the crowds! If you are planning on going to this park, be prepared to wait in line for about 1 1/2 - 2 hours.

The lazy river and the many tube shoots, on the other hand was fantastic. The water was refreshingly freezing cold. Each time you got out of the water into the hot weather, you find yourself wanting to get back in immediatly! We went through the tube shoot with the biggest drop, expecting it to be fabulous. After waiting in line for almost 2 hours, we finally get to experience this thrilling attraction. The drop was to be located at the very end of the ride and familys with small children or people who simply didnt want to experience the huge drop could choose a different passage way emptying you back into one of the rivers. After the huge drop, there was supposed to be a smaller, more thrilling little portion of the chute that we all were looking forward to. The first portion of the ride was pretty fun, but mild. We thought it would get better, though! Come to find out, they had the drop blocked off and they forced you to take the boring passage back to the other river, dissapointing my younger siblings and myself. Another 2 hours wasted!

There were 3 portions to this park in which you could either walk to or recieve free transportation by trolly to. The trolly lines were terribly long (like a 30-45 minute wait) and walking would just be a pain with a big family, so we decided to make the best of what we had in the park we were in (Shlitterbahn West).

Finding a place to sit down and eat was also a pain because there were simply just too many people!

This park would be 100 times better if it werent for the crowds, which I know you cant really control. We visited the park on a Sunday, a fairly non-crowded day. I cant imagine how it would be on a Saturday or Friday....

“What a rip-off. Staff can not answer questions, rides in original park suck.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2011

$90 bucks to spend over an hour standing in line to ride a twenty minute ride that did not have enough water flow to keep you moving. The original park water rides are poorly designed, staff has to work certain areas of all rides for safety reason. (Could hit head very easy). Built on the side of the moutain so you are either going up staris or down stairs. More time walking than enjoying the water. Newer area is better but still no access to the river as shown on the brochure. Parking is bad, lockers are one foot by one foot and cost $9 bucks. I would advise anyone interested to go to any other water prak in texas.
