I have been eating here about once every 3 to 4 months for several years. The atmosphere is nothing to brag about, just typical paper napkin, no table cloth very casual dining. There is a line style ordering where you can choose your meat and sides. The ribs are still juicy, meaty and worth sinking your teeth into if you want some real Texas BBQ in this town with limited dining options. However, as someone else noted you can get the meat as take out and buy better side dishes up North Street at the Brookshire Bros. Grocery's deli counter or even prepackaged stuff from anywhere.
I've also noted the brisket is just OK in the past year. The sausage is fine but not special. At least it is juicy if one wants a mixed plate and needs a 2nd meat besides the ribs. The potato salad has been terrible every time and I've given it a try about 3 times. It is oddly flavored and not even as good as that from chains such as Spring Creek BBQ or Dickey's BBQ, so definitely skip it. The coleslaw is edible. You get slices of cheap white bread which some people like at home, but they could do much better with even frozen bake and serve rolls.
For the price, just skip it unless you get stuck there for many days for work as I do and get desperate for some smoky meat. Even then, I may get KFC's BBQ sandwich and call it a day instead of spending $9-10 for disappointing BBQ.
