“Great restaurant in historic town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2013

We love to come here for lunch. It is in the middle of the historic part of town. Quaint atmosphere. The food is excellent as well as their bakery and desserts. Perfect on a Saturday afternoon.

“An Oasis”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2013

We have a niece who loves in Nacogdoches and we found this place on a previous visit. While visiting again, we went back for lunch and it is a good as ever. A nice oasis of soups, sandwiches, quiches, etc. in the middle of the land of Tex-Mex and fried foods. Nice surroundings and a nice menu. The desserts are definitely great.

“A Great Surprise in a quaint town!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

While driving a friend from Michigan to her new home in Houston we had the pleasant surprise when we pulled off the road for lunch after a thirteen hour drive; Shelley's Bakery & Cafe! A vast selection of delectable gluten-free and vegetarian selections that made us wish we made this drive daily! I enjoyed the Sunburst salad with raspberry vinaigrette on the side. The serving was more than I could eat of fresh greens, fresh strawberries, fresh avocado, toasted pecans, chopped grilled chicken and oranges. My friend had the Sonoma salad and declared the champagne vinaigrette the best dressing ever! All-in-all--Yum! Yum! We wish we could go back for more! The wait staff is friendly, the atmosphere relaxing. One almost felt like you were sitting in your best friend's mom's dining room! Special place, well worth the time and trip!

We came here for lunch. My wife had a great salad and I had a great panini. Our waitress was a wonderful high school girl. Bright and cheery, I would highly recommend them!!!

“Yummy sandwiches!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2013

Our family of 7 had lunch at Shelley's while visiting Nacogdoches. The staff was friendly and attentive but the food took a long time to appear. We tried various sandwiches and everyone thought they were delicious. I agree with a previous reviewer- the broccoli slaw was especially tasty. I had the uptown (vegetarian) grilled panini and it was very good and quite large. It is definitely a "girl's lunch spot"- the men in our group were a bit uncomfortable and there was only one other man in the place at the height of the lunch crowd. The decor is "country tea room" and reservations are recommended. The location is wonderful- close to the fun antique shops along Main Street.
