This is a large restaurant in a small Texas town. The outside of the building is deceiving. Once you enter the place there are two large dining areas. They offer a menu however every one we saw opted for the buffet which is one of the best we have seen and especially for a small town. There were several meat items, such as fried chicken, fried liver, shrimp, fried catfish, several baked meats, a Mexican buffet and a very good lased bar. When you eat all of this there is a large desert bar with around twelve items the day we visited. To top all of this off there is a soft serve ice cream machine complete with cones or use it for topping on one of the several deserts. There was also fresh watermelon and cantaloupe. Tea or coffee came with the meal and all of this for less than $8.00. Waitresses will provide you drinks and ours continued to check by to see if we needed anything. Now about the food. It was really very good. Nothing fancy , just plain home cooking. We just don't see how you can go wrong with a meal at Paredes. We will go back again when in the area.
