“Nice Courtyard”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2012

I have stayed at this hotel a few times for business. Overall it is a very nice hotel. Its rooms are up to date with most of the newer Courtyard and have the same layouts as most of the <5 year old Courtyard Marriott hotels. The TV's are nice, flat screen with pull out and angle change. The beds are very comfortable and overall the hotel is very clean.
The biggest positive of the hotel is the staff, especially Sam at the front desk. He has gone out of his way to accommodate myself and a co-worker when we visit. This hotel is nearly ALWAYS 100% booked, so make your reservation as far out as possible to insure availability.

POSITIVES- Staff, Lobby area, Plenty of Parking

NEGATIVES- Doors on the rooms don’t seal tight, so sound can be a bit of an issue, but if your here for work, it wouldn’t wake you up right? :-)

Room was clean and up to date. Everything you would expect from a Marriott property.

We were a bit concerned by some of the recent reviews, but found this Courtyard to be quite pleasant. We've stayed at several Courtyards over the past few months and found that they vary greatly in how well the new decor package works in the older properties. Based on our room in Midland, this one was done right. The right blend of light and dark colors, placement of the TV on a slide-out base so the armoire did not block vision from the bed, and most of all, a wonderful spacious shower rather than a tub/shower. All appeared clean and well maintained and the staff was efficient and helpful. We stayed using Marriott points, which made it quite a bargain, but their quoted rates seem inordinately high for a non-urban location (which is true of all Marriott properties in Midland-Odessa.) It's also located next door to a fun restaurant. The only down side could be that that it is located a good distance from I-20.

i work for a company the travels the us buying jewelry and coins we have stayed at this marriott many times before and used there meeting room many times also. before the new management the meeting room space was $200 for a small meeting room a day a few months later it is now $600 a day and after explaining that we go there allot they said they can do anything abut it which is a complete lie because they tried to lower it another $50 over the phone. i dont go go a hotel to get charged outrages prices this place is garbage and they will try to charge way more for the room than they are. I would NEVER GO BACK THERE.

Room Tip: don't go to this place terrible.

2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2011

We stayed at this hotel about a year and a half ago and it was in pretty good shape. This time was completely different.

The first thing that struck me was that all the furniture is totally dinged up, scuffed, with broken corners and cracks, dirty spots on the upholstery. Then there were the room numbers falling off the walls in the hallways. The wallpaper is all scuffed up and even starting to crack and peel off in some places. In the bathroom, there are big, rust-colored cracks in the caulking around the shower and the toilet flush handle is about to break off. There is dust and kind of a smeary coating of grime everywhere, like the rooms don't get cleaned thoroughly, but just wiped down cursorily. The wifi also regularly goes down, which is not good for a business traveler. The nice AC thermostat on the wall has been replaced by a cheap in-wall unit with its own onboard controls, reminiscent of a cheap motel.

This hotel has clearly not done a lick of maintenance since it opened. I call it a "deferred maintenance program" It is badly in need of renovation.

Got in late so had to pay 160.00 for a room with 2 double beds. Opened the mini fridge to discover a science experiment gone bad.

I’m sorry if I may offend some people, but there really isn’t a whole lot to see in the Midland area and it’s not very scenic unless you like the many oil well drilling machines that dot the landscape, so staying in a nice hotel can be comforting. With that said, most of the hotel choices are the major chains and depending on which chain you prefer you have many to choose from. Knowing what to expect from a chain isn’t a bad thing. You know the room will be clean and the expectation of certain amenities is very comforting – exactly what I received at this Marriott Courtyard. The staff was very friendly and willing to answer any questions I may have had. The property offers a restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, a full service bar, pool, laundry facility and an exercise room. In addition to all of that, the room comes with a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker.

It’s not far from the airport is a great place to stay whether passing through or there for a business trip.
