I am writing this review while I am still in the hotel using there wireless which they have provided me for the past 3 days. The hotel is a lovely place very clean and cosy. The lounge is very comfortable with a big open fires and large leather chairs.the hosts hazel peter & carl could not be more helpful the food here is fabulous as stated is other reviews. I would definately stay again as good places are hard to find on these islands. The isle of Skye is very quiet this time of year but still very beautiful it is a good time to come to avoid the rush of summer. There is a lot of places closed tho so be warned but you can still do all the walks there is to offer or look at the wildlife the weather this week has been good apart from today so we just read our books in front of the fire. If you come to Skye you must try this place even if it just for food its worth it

We came here in June 07 and it was a very enjoyable break in a great little hotel. so when we wanted a short winter break we booked again.

The weather was unusually glorious for this time of year and made the stay very pleasant but what really raised the star rating was the fantastic reception we got from Hazel, Peter and Carl. They treated us like returning old friends.

We stayed in a beautiful (newly refurbished) room which was both cosy and blissfully quiet at night. All food (as we remembered) was fantastic, including an excellent hearty breakfast. Peter is a master with bacon, local black pudding and potato cake, whilst Hazel delivers the perfectly cooked eggs any way you like them. Good Scottish food with no messing.

This week's dinner highlight was steak in whiskey and peppercorn sauce and salmon in champagne sauce. Also Hazels salad dressing recipe has made its way south in my wife's handbag.!!

The roaring fire and great local beer and Highland malts made the evenings a delight and our hosts never left us unattended or in need for our whole trip.

We will be back !!

“Fantastic”

This was our first visit to Skye and had decided to stay at The Lodge at Edinbane and we were not disapointed. Hazel, Peter and Carl made me, my husband and our dog very welcome. A nice comfortable room lovely lounge with real log fire and superb food,(get Peter to make you one of his superb sponge puddings). Hazel provided us with details of places to visit and we managed to get to the magical Fairy Glen that we had heard about. Highlight of our stay was when we woke up to snow on our last morning it was fantastic. Only downside was we didn't have enough time to visit the whole island, maybe next time, as we will be back.

We had been visiting relatives in Inverness and had decided to spend the last few days visiting Isle of Skye. When we arrived at the Lodge we were greeted by Hazel and Peter and immediately were made to feel welcome, the trip continued to impress, with the perfect surroundings ,amazing atmosphere and a restaurant you never want to leave ( the food is unbelievable) it's definetly the place I would recommend to relax and unwind. We also got a 10% when we used our My Favourite Card discount card , they truly have thought of everything at The Lodge Hotel.

We loved the Lodge, the setting, the food and the hospltality. Didn't see any actual ghosts, but my wife had a very strange thing happen to her glasses in the loo of the 4 poster room - put them down and when she picked them up the frames were bent totally our of shape. Just plain weird. Pub food superb, best pub meal I've ever had - smoked haddock and homemade chips and veg, and breakfast was great as well. Next time we'll be staying longer than just one night.
