“Great Food - well worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

We came here to eat on recommendation and we weren't disappointed; the food was great. only one of our party is vegetarian but the veggie choices were so tempting we all selected them! Not only did the food taste great but it was beautifully presented.
The owners were really welcoming, the beer from the Skye micro-brewery was most enjoyable and they welcomed our (very well behaved) dog too providing we ate in the bar. This was no hardship, the bar is large and comfortable.
We live in Wiltshire, otherwise we would be here every week, not just when we're on our holidays!!

“A bit pricey but worth a treat!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013

My friends and I had a very special night here during our trip to Skye. We only managed to get a table as we arrived very early, so I would highly recommend that you ring ahead and book.

The food is on the fancy side, with prices to match, but was very nice. I really enjoyed my starter of mussels and lamb that was cooked to perfection for mains. Portions are on the small side, so the prices do grind a bit but in terms of presentation, quality and ambience, it really was lovely. (On a side note, veggie options were limited to cheese dishes so my friend struggled; she wasn't offered any alternatives either, which is a bit poor for a place were food obviously matters.)

After dinner we headed to the bar were a group played music; the atmosphere was fantastic and we really enjoyed our evening.

Overall, staff were very friendly and food was great. Definitely worth a visit.

“The real McCoy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

A proper little gem and worth going a good way to enjoy. I did - twice from Gedintailor and once from Pornalong in the space of a fortnight. If I'd been any nearer I'd've been there more often.

“Great Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

Visited here from the Camping and Caravan site up the road, easy access from carpark, restaurant through the bar and into some side rooms, very cosey and nicely spaced tables. Menu was good with plenty choice. Food was excellent and arrived in a reasonable time. Service was very good with cheerful and helpful waitress.
atmosphere was very friendly, we had a chat with another couple on the next table who were from Belgium and were touring Scotland on a Motorbike.
the room was well heated (it was raining and blowing a gale outside) and comfortable.
Toilets were clean.
I would definitely return here if I was staying nearby.
well worth the visit.

“Excellent food but a little pricey, great live music”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013

The food here is absolutely superb. We were first offered a choice of delicious home-baked breads, including a herb, garlic and sea salt bread that was the tastiest bread we'd ever tried. The food was getting towards the 'haute cuisine' threshold, and was therefore suitably creative and posh, verging on a little pretentious (depending on your tastes). Salads were served with spicy edible flowers, and portions were quite small with fancy presentation. This was reflected in the price, with most main courses costing around £20. Four people eating two courses came to about £130. That price range means that, at least for me, this is somewhere that you would go for a special treat rather than an every day meal. Especially when the amount of food on your plate makes it difficult to justify the cost! (though maybe I'm just a little uncultured!). The food was fantastic, and the decor was a classy, stylish take on a traditional Scottish restaurant, with oak furniture and attractive artwork depicting local scenery adorning the walls.

For a completely different take on the Edinbane Inn, go through to the bar areas after your meal and enjoy a relaxed, pub atmosphere quite at odds with the fancy cuisine down the corridor! Here great real ale is served, along with a good selection of Scottish single malt whiskies. There are live traditional music sessions twice per week, with acoustic guitar, fiddles and bagpipes. We played cards, soaked in the atmosphere and tapped our feet along to the lively traditional music. The musicians were very talented and we were impressed to find out that the chef and one of the waitresses were moonlighting as our entertainment.

Though we left the Edinbane Inn with our wallets a little light, we had a fantastic night all round and would definitely go back for a special treat, or perhaps just go to the bar to enjoy the live music.
