“Another visit to Island Village”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2013

Our fourth visit in five years to Island Village and once again not disappointed.Plenty of work and refurbishment still going on but staff cheery as usual on our arrival pointing out that the James Brasserie had closed since our last visit but a new Iceland supermarket was opening in its place that week.Had a nice meal at Picasso's and then headed on down towards the front.Booked a day trip to La Gomera which was a brilliant full day out including a 3 course meal and a demonstration of the local whistling language.Well worth the money. Also tried a couple of new restaurants this year and would highly recommend Carlos Restaurant on the road down towards the harbour. As usual our villa was clean and spacious with a lovely garden space.Im sure we will be returning very soon. Thanks to all the staff once again.

Thanks very much for your constructive review about your stay in Island Village as well as the surrounding area and recommendations. It is true that Iceland supermarket has now opened in place of James Brasserie & they have also opened a cafeteria on the poolside which serves lunches and snacks. I have passed your kind comments on to the staff & we look forward to seeing you again soon!

First surprise, after the customary warmest of welcomes from the staff in Reception, was to find the we had been upgraded to a lovely 2-bedroom bungalow with its own spacious garden and pool, right next to the larger of the two recently refurbished pool areas! Second surprise was to find that the long awaited supermarket (Iceland) had opened that very morning (in the building formerly occupied by James's Brasserie) and that the local radio station was on-site promoting it. Seemed to do the trick as people from all over San Eugenio were shopping there by the end of the week!
Island Village itself just as we remembered it: they are pushing on with the long-term refurbishment and the whole complex is beautifully clean. The staff as a whole could not be more cheerful and efficient, the service and atmosphere at Picasso's and the cafe attached to Iceland was fine and the prices very reasonable. The only downside as far as we were concerned was that the various routes back from the beach and local attractions seem to have got steeper this year, pushing us all too often towards the plentiful taxis! We'll definitely be back.

Returned just yesterday from a weeks stay celebrating my husbands birthday. We were a group of 10 and rented 3 1 bedroom apartments and a deluxe 2 bedroom with private pool. We have all had the best week, every member of staff we came across was friendly, cheerful and accommodating. The apartments were clean, comfortable and contained everything we needed, The icing on the cake was the pool and huge garden space, which our party struggled to move away from . Picaso's bar was also a bonus with its excellent range of food and well priced drinks, and good friendly service ( breakfast was real value for money). Great location, taxis always available if you needed one, although beach, port and many excellent restaurants are within walking distance. Siam park (water park) is a must and well worth the 33 euro entrance. We also hired a boat and managed to see both whales and dolphins on what was an amazing day. Iceland opened a store at the entrance of the resort which was so handy with a great range . Many thanks Paula you did us proud, and the lady on reception ( sorry didn't catch her name) great service. Didn't want to leave.

We stayed here 27/09/13 for one week. Absolutely loved it. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The rooms were immaculate and were cleaned daily, Its within easy reach of all amenities and the beach is only 5-10 mins walk away. Would love to return again soon. The only down side is the pool, if you want to sit by the pool be up early as the towel brigade are out early.

Thank you so much for your great review! So sorry about the "towel brigade" though- unfortunately we are constantly trying to stop this but certain weeks end up worse than others. Anyway, I am glad it did not spoil your stay and we look forward to seeing you again soon!!

I enjoyed my stay at Island Village with my brother and sister in April, when we were blessed with fantastic weather and the most courteous and helpful staff at the resort. The standard of cleanliness was impressive, as were the swimming pools, and we all appreciated the open views from our balcony out towards the ocean and La Gomera.
We will book again for next year.

Room Tip: South West facing rooms are best, so you can watch the sun go over the yardarm and the sunset over L...

4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2013

Just returned from nearly 3 weeks here. After reading some of the reviews we were a little concerned but needn't of been. We rented a privately owned 2 bed/2bath apartment and were pleasantly suprised with the large amount of indoor and outdoor space we had. The complex was clean and the pools were well maintained. We did have a few ants and saw a couple of cockroaches but you expect that in the canaries and it was nothing that a can of pest spray didnt sort out! We didnt have air conditioning but we were able to rent a couple of fans from the reception very cheaply. It was surprisingly quiet for August and there were always loungers available - although some inconsiderate people did come down in a morning and putntheir towels on loungers and en clear off to Aqualand for the day and not actually come to the pool until about 4pm, in my opinion somebody should be checking a couple of times a day and remove the towels if people are obviously not using them. The on-site bar/restaurant served good cheap food and drinks and there were plenty of restaurants nearby - including a lovely Scicilian that had just opened across the road. We were just a short walk down the hill into Las Americas where there were plenty more bars and restaurants to choose from. It was a just a couple of euros back up the hill in a taxi. The resort is literally across the road from aqualand which our two young girls loved and you can easily access neighboring areas of Adeje, Los cristianos, Siam Park and Jungle Park. In all we had a fantastic time and would recommend it.

Very many thanks for your review. We are really glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Island Village and the surrounding area. I have made a note of your comments about towells around the pool saving sunbeds and our staff will keep an eye out for this in future as I agree it is not fair when clients do this. We hope you will visit us again. Kind Regards,
