Stayed here over Christmas. Have stayed before, but can't really go overboard about Colon II like everyone else on here.
Yes, it's clean and it's ideally located, but it really isn't anything special.
The towels were only changed 5 times out of 7 and they are small and certainly need replaced. The day after we arrived I piled the towels on the floor to be replaced and the maid just hung the dirty wet towels back up again!
Yes, you have to pay extra for TV (we didn't bother) and they have even taken the toaster away since last time, you have to pay extra for them too (didn't bother).
Will definitely stay somewhere else next Christmas - you can get far better and cheaper than these!

My partner and I stayed at these apartments at the end of November and had a fantastic time. Reception staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful every time we spoke to them and nothing was too much trouble. Our studio was spotlessly clean and I reiterate what other reviewers have said, there was not a speck of dust to be seen. The cleaners worked tirelessly and I was very impressed. There was absolutely no noise from other guests, and considering the apartments are in a very central location, there was no noise by night either. The pavement cafe served lovely food, my partner was addicted to the cheese and pineapple toastie and the lady in red ice cream sundae lol. It was perfectly positioned for a lovely relaxing snack and my favourite hobby of people watching.
As I've previously said the apartments are very central and in an ideal location for shopping, the beach, or eating at any of the many lovely restaurants in the area. If you stay here you must try Mama Rosa's Italian restaurant which is attached to the complex. Not cheap, but beautiful food, attentive staff and a perfect ambience.
We liked it so much we are going back with my son and daughter-in-law next November.

Just returned from 1 week at Colon II apartments. Was a bit unsure when booked as in centre of Playa de las Americas. When we arrived we were pleasently suprised, these apartments are excellent. Even though they are in the centre of Playa de las Americas it is in quiet area with very little noise. We were travelling with 2 friends and had 2 studio's next to each other. The studios were very spacious and spotlessly clean with everything that we needed. The staff are friendly and helpful and the cleaners do an excellent job, not a spot of dust anywhere. Everything was close by and there a lots of excellent restaurants and shops to choose from. The restaurant on site Mamma Rosa which we ate at twice was very good and the food was excellent. Must also mention Martini Restaurant and Sugar & Spice Restaurant which were excellent and very reasonable prices.
I would highly recommend Colon II for a relaxing winter break and hope to return there next December.

Right in the heart of things with many bars and eateries within easy walking distance. Taxis a 2 minute walk away and the beach front 5 minutes away. Very clean and staff helpful. Would recommend Cappuccino cafe on the beach with spectacular sun set view and lovely food.

Arrived 7th Dec 2012 booked into one bedroom apt No 221. The complex is superb, friendly staff, great location, and large apartments. We were amazed at the number of cleaners who were continuosly working all day making the room and complex spotlesly clean.Kitchen was separated from the living area downside no TOASTER.
The restaurant on site Mama Rosa we did not use as the meals were much more expensive and smaller portions than the local restaurants.Pint of lager on site E2.50 local bars E1.00.
If going self catering and use Iceland watch out for the items marked in sterling as the rate of exchange at the till is terrible.
All in all excellent complex only gripe hard beds.and only half of the pool catches the sun.
We are coming back in March 2013.

Room Tip: If you want the sun on your balcony ask for rooms not facing the pool

We have just had a very pleasant week at these apartments. We had a top floor 2 bed apt, and I think we dropped on lucky as we had one on the none pool side so we had sun all day and night. Rm 409. Massive balcony with table , 4 chairs and six sun loungers!!

Bit dissapointed that things like safe , toaster , tv is extra.Could also do with some wine glasses in room too , rather than just beakers.

Everything is really spotless and this is a big plus when youre travelling abroad. The rooms are serviced daily with constant towel changes and the bedding changed too.
Even in the public areas cleaners are working round the clock. It is spotless.
The Pool is really cold however! And there is a scrabble for the loungers in the morning as only half the pool area gets sun.
All round a very good value holiday with just a few things we´d like to see different.
After reading reviews I would definately ask for a room on the right of the hotel
