“Ok for price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2011

Lets start with the negatives:
We were meant to get a light clean everyday apart from Sundays and a major clean once a week. No we didnt. The floor was filthy, we had to wear shoes or get black feet. Hair belonging to other people were in the apartment everyday! I swept the floor on numerous occasions but it never cleaned it. I didnt see why I should buy cleaning products on holiday!
Sun beds, I know usual story! Not enough sunbeds with shade, people would get down for 8am to reserve beds, then not show up til midday! Rules state that you cant reserve but this is not policed.
Found the complex to be very 'cliquey'. I think as its a timeshare complex a lot of people knew each other..
Good points:
We had one bed apartment , 656, and it was very spacious. Kitchen had been refurbished and had everything that was needed. The bedroom had 2 single beds pushed together and plenty of wardrobes. A top sheet that fitted both beds would have looked better though! The lounge had a sofa bed, coffee table, tv, stereo and wall unit. We had a double balcony with plenty of room for all the outdoor furniture. We had a fantastic view over pool and sea.
The bar was good value for money and the food and drinks were really nice.
The location was ok, can be noisey at night, no way you can get an early night!!! Unfortunatley there were a number of hills to get to the beach, ok going down, but coming back urgh!!! There were a lot of places to eat closeby and bars. Just be careful, if a 3 course meal is on offer for 5 euros, u get what you pay for!!
Overall it was a nice break, but not sure we would go back again.

Room Tip: A room facing the sea gets sun all day, but with no air con, that can be quite hot in the room!

Love this place. It is really handy for everything and staff are always friendly. The apartments are clean and well stocked and though the furnishings are a bit old fashioned it's comfortable. The new owners of the bar are great and meals and drinks are good value.

We booked privately with Mrs Dewey, and upon arriving at 1 in the morning were faced with a shabby and dirty apartment, and no bedding for my son,not impressed.I did not expect to have to go and buy cleaning products,(including a mop head, as the mop provided was thread bare and had not seen water in many years),and scrub a filthy bathroom and kitchen, floors. The oven was unusable the tiles in kitchen covered in years of grease and grime the list goes on.I did however put up with the apartment for 2 weeks as i know there was no chance of a refund and tried to clean the apartment as best i could so as to have a more comfortable stay. All in all the complex it self is not too bad,a little clicky as most residents are time share holders and know each other, and also like to hog all of the sunbeds/parasols/pool side bar seats etc.The complex is small but has all you need, including some dodgy entertainment most nights, reasonably priced food and drink at the pool side bar that can be taken out,and a small shop and laundrette. However i would not stay here again as the complex is situated on a hill away from the main nightlife, and most bars and restaurants near by close at 12.Apart from the apartment we had a great holiday in Tenerife and will definately be going back, just not here!

Room Tip: Do not stop in room 208!

I was surprised to read this review as the apartment is one of the most popular. I was there in May this year myself, and while there I gave the apartment a complete spring clean including all the tiles in both the kitchen and bathroom so to say they had not been cleaned in years is not true. The ceaner will also wipe the tiles down regularly.

My apartments are well maintained and offer excellent value for money accommodation - I do not advertise them as time share and they are not luxury apartments. This particular apartment had brand new bedroom furniture just before Xmas and new living room funiture last year so new items are constantly bought to keep the apartment up to standard.

If you only paid for 2 people then linen would not have been left for a 3 person - or if a mistake the person who looks after the apartment is only a phone call away. The apartments are usually well cleaned before guests arrive but if a problem occured - again a phone call could sort things out. You did not contact anyone during your stay about cleaning so we were not given a chance to put anything wrong right.

I want everyone to have a good holiday so I take complaints seriously but have to wonder why you wait until you get home to leave a complaint on a review site rather than get any problem sorted while there on holiday.

Garden City is an excellent postion and close to everything - there are plenty of bars and restuarants right outside the complex ad even more just a short walk away.

Yes, if you want to go out to the main night clubs there is a small hill to walk down and then a walk on the flat by the sea, but it is only about an 8 or 10 minute walk. Personally I would not want to stay near the nightclubs with possible anti social problems and noise and this makes Garden City such a good choice to stay.

I get many repeat bookings for my apartments and this would not happen if the apartments were not looked after. Just today a couple who stayed earlier this year have re-booked for 6 weeks in the autumn.

Went with Club La Costa. Not Club la Costa standard. Beds were very uncomfortable. We slept on the sofa bed , BUT
a great wee complex if you were booking direct at 2/3 star prices.
Rooms were basic , cleaned daily. A couple of problems, dealt with immediately . Balcony small but with just two of us a nice wee space to have breakfast. Schools still in, so very quiet, plenty of space and the wee pool (unheated) rarely had more than ten people at it.
Pool bar , at big pool , was good and staff very friendly. Drink and food basic , but very reasonably priced. We were caught out by volcanic activity. Reception staff contacted Club La Costa. We got 3 days accommodation at no cost so very pleased with the service of Club Olympus and Club la Costa.
Would not go back with Club La Costa ( expect more at CLC prices) but would book direct for an easy relaxing break.

Room Tip: rooms numbered 3000 and above overlooking the wee

Good location, nice friendly helpful staff, rooms were lovely and clean with good views. The food was really nice and a good sunday lunch. The downfalls were; the pool was advertised as heated which it wasn't and there weren't enough sunbeds around the pool, also having booked the hotel independently I didn't expect or want the hotels rep to try and sell me a timeshare in the palce!

Was put in this hotel by Club la Costa. It was really not their standard so I cannot understand why I was put there!!!
On the plus side staff were very friendly and the pool bar was excellent, and is in an excellent location.
Apartments were very small with a tiny balcony which had a table and chars with 2 sun loungers, but I do not think if the sunloungers were unstacked that they would have fitted in!!
Don't be conned by Club la Costa.

As I lay by the pool next to the pool bar I thought I would say a few words, on arrival at club Olympus the first impressions of reception don't do the complex justice, yes it could do with a bit of a tart up, but if you want a clean room, good cheap food and drinks this is a good area, and resort, some Of the apartments are owed outright and like us some are timeshare owners. 2 mins walk to the beach, 5 mins to shops. Was made very welcome in Olympus pool bar and a special thanks to Charlotte whom kept the beers coming, it was my brothers 40th and the other guests made us very welcome. We had a 1 bed and the kitchen wax new, large double bed, and massive balcony with sea and pool view, will b back as soon as I can x
