“Loved Las Americas and Tenerife but hotel just ok”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2007

Just returned last Friday 13th from Tenerife the Parque de la Paz is in a brilliant location, and I would definitely go back to Tenerife, with its great restaurants and good pubs for night life, but on the hotel itself while it is clean and the maid service is great, they need to speak to the reception staff who are very unwelcoming, I was there with my wife, daugheter and daugters friend both aged sixteen, and the first welcome you get is from someone with a dour face, the second week was better when the manageress was on reception and she is delightful hope you get her. The one downside at the pool is that it doesn't open till 9am and you have to pay for the mats to put on the beds and the umbrellas for shade enough brollys but not enough stands? at a cost of 1.20 euro per brolly and pad which with 5 of us was an extra 7 euros per day doesnt seem much does it? But over two weeks its an extra 100 euros. Remember and keep your deposit slip for your safe as you wont get it back if you lose the receipt. I would recommend Tenerife to anyone as this was my first time there but I would definitely look elsewhere for a hotel as TCook advertised it as a family hotel to me and it wasn't as it was full of parties of teenagers with groups of 8 and 12 and in some cases 16 taking up huge parts of the hotel the only good thing about this was that they didn't come down to the pool till late which by the way has a Lifeguard who is excellent. Overall a good experiene.

  • Liked — the pool area was excellent but costly
  • Disliked — the grumpy reception staff and the poor internet access

Just returned from a week stay with my partner, and these apartments have an excellent location, spacious and clean. Just a stroll away from main beach (Vista) and close the Safari complex, where the main feature The dancing fountain puts on a display at 9pm each night to music...which attracted a big crowd, we found ourselves drawn to this
area as it boasted a more upmarket selection of shops, restaurants, just to mention a few (Harry's Bar and the restaurant one door away next to American Bar offering food Gordon Ramsay would be proud off! (Sorry can't remember the name) Also if you take a head towards
the Tenerife Princess hotel" (a pick up point for any excusion) Look out for the cocktail bar called "Buda" on the corner. At night this stylish bar comes alive with an infecious relaxing atmosphere and good music to suit all! We did find Pleasure Island & Veronicas strip, only 20 mins walk away, where you find Linakers' Bar, Yates, Edwards..just to mention a few, we're mid 30's, but I'm sure we would have appreciated it a decade ago! Los Cristianos was dispointing, this whole area looked a bit rundown. They have a sunday
market, which isn't really worth a visit, especially if you're looking for cheap designer gear, very little selection of anything! Mount Teide by Landcruiser with "freebird" was a good way to spend half a day, but beware those cables cars to the summit will cost you 23 euros each...our rep forgot to mention this! Aqualand again, an expensive day out with all the extras, the almost vertical slide was superb!

Back to the hotel, the reviews are spot on, and the only complaint would be the lack of sunbeds from mid morning. Beach towels are out, but the owners are nowhere to be seen, but that's nothing new! Finally
helpful tips, keep hold of the safe receipt, let reception look after
your key whilst you're out! Enjoy your hot shower at home as you're not likely to get one during your stay!

what a brilliant experience the Parque de la Paz was! Do not be put of by negative reviews as some people are way too fussy!!

just back from a week in playa de las americas with the boyfriend. These apartments were second to none and ticked the boxes of cleanliness, great location and excellent customer service.
Having booked through direct holidays, I knew I was getting a typical 'package' holiday, but I did not imagine the added extras that would come along especially as i had booked on a budget!

The rooms in Parque de la Paz are huge with separate living room, separate kitchen, large double bedroom and bathroom. The huge double balcony had double doors leading from not just the living area but also our bedroom. The rooms are cleaned once a day, and towels and linen changed daily. Silly things that you would not expect are in the kitchen (bottle opener!!), but there is no kettle or iron. These can be rented from reception.

The pool area is clean and well equipped with pool bar, plenty of sunbeds, pool table and bbq area. Lifeguard on duty all day long which I have never seen before in budget-priced apartments! Having stayed in various apartments in the canaries over the years, i came home realising that parque de la paz were the first were i didn't see one cockroach! the area outside the apartments was cleaned daily, maybe this was why?

The location is fab. my boyfriend and I were looking for a mad clubbing holiday, but we did want to be able to sleep at night without rowdy or inconsiderate 18-30's. The apartments are just a 10 min walk towards the resort centre where the nightlife goes on till 7am. A taxi takes no time for 4 euro. The benefit here is that young people can still make the most of the livelier part of the resort, while coming back to apartments that are quiet for some decent kip!
As these apts are not really 18-30, they may be better for families with young or teenage children, or couples.

The rep for the apartments (James) works hard not just to make sure that his guests have a great stay, but that all guests in Parque de la Paz are happy.

Staff speak great english, and were always helpful and friendly when approached. The entertainment is a bit cheesy , but for couples with young children it is ideal as it allows kids to stay in the main bar untill midnight so parents can enjoy themselves too.

Parque de la Paz in my opinion can not be faulted at all, and i plan to stay there when I go back to tenerife in the future! I have already recommended it to family and friends!

Just come back from a weeks holiday at the Parque de la Paz, Tenerife. Im 23 and my girfriend is 26. Nice spacious apartment. Gives you cooker, kitchen area, shower and living room with tv as wel as a room with 2 beds in it. Not bad, the only downfall was that the hot water from the shower is not all that good. It lasted for about 10 min then went cold.. very frustratin when my girlfriend takes ages in the shower. Had an engineer come try and fix the bboiler problem , but he just twicked a few knobs and when i asked him what was wrong, he shrugged his shoulders and said it should work in an hour... surprise surprise the same problem happend again, so dont expect much help.

Also no kettle people, so be sure to be prepared to boil water in the saucepan provided or get a travel kettle!

The location is brill. Its not in the midldle of the nightlife section, which is good as means ya can get sum sleep. This place is located in the center, so 5 minutes to ya right and your at the beach..and 5-10 mins to the left and your in the nightlife area.

On the way to the nightlife area you will come across lots of restaurants. Very good deals here, including 5.50 euros for all you can eat chinese buffets. Personal choice is the one on the left hand side as the food in there is too a high quality.

Once you have gone down this road and turned right you are in the nightlife area.. Flashing lights and many PR people.. so be warned.. You have 2 main areas for nightlife. Pleasure Island which is on ya right and then Veronicas strip on ya left. Personally liked Veronicas strip better. PR people are annoying, but be sure to listen to some PRs as they can work out to be very cheap ..
Only down fall to this nightlfe is that theres many men selling glasses (at night i dont know why) . They tend to try and make conversation with you everytime you pass.

Because I am used to the likes of Ibiza and Aya naipa its not that much for nighlife. Not many big clubs, Tramps seems to be where everyone ends up but even that is quite small considering its the "place to be". We went in June thow and was very quiet so maybe the atmosphere would be better further in season.

Personal advice, you will be offerd the chance to go on the Freebird boat, and see dolphins.. this is SUPERB for ya tan and a great experience. Really was the best boat trip ive been on and gives you the chance to sunbathe on a huge 1.3 million pound catamaran boat. ..Be sure to shop around for this thow, as there are many places that sell the Freebird trip at different prices. Cheapest we saw was for 32 euros. and this gets all food and drink included. for a 3 hour trip.!

All round a nice place to stay. All restaurants/ bars and beach.within walking distance.Try the Royal pub on the way to Pleasure island. This place is briliant for a few drinks with class acts and a great presenter called Chris. Very relaxed in there, and mixed age groups. We went there almost every night to start us off.

I know many people have mentioned time share people when reviewing Playa de las Americas. There were many there but they seemed to be very selective as to whom they approach. We only got approached once yet we saw millions.

The Parque de la Paz is brill for families and couples. Not many groups of people stay here as i guess there more near pleasure island , and entertainment shuts off at 12. . so you can sleep.

We have just returned from a week at Parque de la Paz. My two daughters aged 7 and 5 had a fantastic time, so did me and my husband. The apartments are spacious and exceptionally clean, the cleaners are constantly working. The pool area was clean but can get very busy - get down early and bag yourself a sunbed!
The staff were very helpful and all spoke good english.
Entertainment was good, Cara and Bobby do a fantastic job, especially with the kids. Every afternoon except Tuesdays and Fridays, they run a free kids club for an hour, giving you a little respite!!!
The area around the apartments is excellent, the shops are amazing, plenty of eating places. I recommend Macks bar beside playa la vistas beach. The breakfast is fantastic and always piping hot. A full english will cost you a mere 3 euros.
We spent the day at Aqualand, but be warned - it is very expensive. It cost us 80 euros for the day (4people), then you have to pay for your sunbeds. Take sandwiches with you, the food is very highly priced and not very good. The Dolphin show is absolutely brilliant and well worth seeing, kids loved it.
The only thing I would warn anyone about the apartments - If you purchase a safety deposit box, remember to keep your receipt or you will not get your 21 euros deposit back. Luckily I kept mine, but lots of people didn't and were extremely cheesed off!!!!
We had a great holiday here and would definately go back.

We have just returned from a week stay in the Parque del la paz and we have had a thoroughly great time!! We will return!!

The apartments are basic but clean and fit for purpose. Ideally located, the beach is close by along with a good selection of bars and restaurants. The Chinese around the corner ( along the strip) The Golden House is fantastic and definately worth a visit. Jens Den a little cafe close to the beach (left hand side of road as approaching th beach) does an excellent breakfast, inc coffee, toast and juice for only 4euros!!!!

We only spent a day and a couple of hours at the end of each day at the pool but it was clean and pleasant surroundings. We spent most days on the beach. Dont be afraid to have a massage that are offered by the little oriental ladies on the beach, I had a glorious foot massage for 10euro and my daughter opted for the full body massage 20 euro which she thoroughly enjoyed, all from the comfort of your own sunbed!! Be aware though of the man selling fruit, he pretends he can't understand your request for a price and proceeds to spectactularly cut a melon for you and then charges 18euros!!! (IT WAS JUICY I SUPPOSE!!)

The entertainment in the hotel is a little poor but Cara does do her best and she clearly loves and is passionate about what she does (and the children seem to like her). We spent most evenings out and about so it wasn't a disappointment for us. The younger ones in our group enjoyed the nightlife down at Veronicas which is a short taxi ride away and costs about 3-5 euros.

This was a really good holiday for us, it was cheap and I was a bit anxious of what it would turn out like. I needn't have worried it was enjoyed by all of us and we would have no hesitation in returning.

Hope you enjoy it too!!!

We have just come back after a week at this hotel. This is probably one of the cleanest hotels we have stayed at, the staff appeared to constantly clean everywhere including outside the hotel. All the outside areas were thoroughtly washed every morning and there was never any litter lying around. The room itself was clean and modestly furnished, towels and bedding regularly changed and the maid service could not be faulted. As we were self catering we ate out every evening. Our only gripe would be a lack of variety at some of the restaurants, a lot of the restaurants concentrated on the pizza/pasta theme and there were not that many restaurants in the locality that appeared to do genuine canarian food. If your idea of eating our is a british theme pub service good all fashioned british grub then you cant go wrong as there is a large choice nearby. The two or three local supermarkets were very reasonably priced in terms of liquid refreshements and basic every day needs. The pool area was kept immaculately clean and the cushions at 1.20euro per day were a bargain. The entertainment on an evening was okay Cara did her best to keep everyone laughing and singing but it has to be said that one or two on the tribute acts were dire to say the least. All in all a good holiday.
