“Aptly rated! Enjoyed our holiday but.....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2012

Just arrived home from a week at Parque Cristobal. We had a 2 bedroom apartment right next to the pool, number 121. We stayed all inclusive, 2 adults and a 12 year old child. The food was certainly good but definately not excellent. A wide selection of salads, pastas, potatoes and fries with varying meat/fish dishes. I would however say that the menu choices were decidedly more european so be aware fussy eaters. Drinks are easily available for all inclusive guests with the self service point. We had chance to grab a sun lounger at most times of the day but with limited sun and suppose this luck is due to our off peak visit! This parque is definately suited to families with younger children. Despite being very central and just off the main promenade it is very well isolated and enclosed from the late night antics outside and kids activities seemed well suited to the under 10 age group.

Positives: The location is extremely central to the playas and well within walking distance to lots of facilities. Bars, restaurants, shops and a 24 hour supermarket right outside the parque and only 3 minute walk to the nearest beach. The apartments have adequate facilities for food preparation and storage. LOTS of storage space for everything actually! Small terrace area outside with seating and table for 4. A safe can be rented in the apartment and beach towels are available with a 15 euro deposit (each). Lots of space in the apartment with 2 good sized bedrooms and a good sized kitchen/diner area. Good staff morale and attitude, friendly and helpful.

Negatives: It really is badly signed and difficult to know you've arrived at your accommodation! After 22:30 the place really closed down to a minimum. No air conditioning, just room fans and if you leave the windows open you get an early morning wake up call from lots of excited kiddies. Cockroaches!!! A couple inside the apartment that needed to be relocated and a few later in the evening around the outside bar area...just sit with your feet up :) No ironing facility in the room but an iron was available from reception.

Overall we enjoyed this holiday location but as always there are some negatives that are often down to personal taste. Keep an open mind!!

Room Tip: Room 121 is right next to the pool so great if the kids are a little older and you dont want to go d...

this was our second year at this hotel , we took our three children and partners and our grand daughter , the rooms where nice and clean food was good and the whole atmosphere very good , weather was excellent an all round good holiday , staff where very help full and attentive we will be returning again next year. the only down side is no air conditioning in the room so would imagine uncomfortable in the high season.

We stayed here Easter 2012 and only getting round to writing the review now!! We were a family of 4, 2 boys aged 10 and 13. We booked this based on reviews and were not disappointed. The complex is beautifully maintained, they were whitewashing some of the bungalows when we were there. We had a 2 bed bungalow so loads of space for us all - boys really enjoyed having a bedroom to themselves. Kitchen has all you need, but we were all inclusive. Food was very good and restuarant staff were very pleasant and friendly, always smiling. There was plenty to choose from. The bar staff too were always happy and cheery. My youngest really enjoyed the non alcoholic cocktails made by the barman for him - he made a jug of it each night and it was on the bar available to everyone. There are trays provided in the bungalows so if you wanted to take anything back to your bungalow, it wasn't a problem. The place is spotless and the maids were very good. The entertainment is child based, but we would go across the road most nights to the other bars that are within very close range of the complex. Could not hear a thing at night, even though it is in a busy area. Close to Veronica's Strip, the beach, shops, etc, so an ideal location. Daytime entertainment was good, my boys loved joining in. There is a small multi court for playing football, etc, and they played here nearly everyday making friends all round them. The people who stay here are from many different countries like Sweden, Norway, Holland, Denmark, Germany, etc so it was nice to mix with people of those countries. All their children spoke fantastic English, put you to shame really, and they were very polite and pleasant. My boys had great fun with them. We have booked this same complex again and are heading there for Easter 2013 and cannot wait. At least we know we are in a great, safe, clean and friendly accomodation complex.

We had a fab holiday, bungalows very clean, everybody helpful, my boys loved the pool only downside sometimes hard to get a sunbed. Would be better with air conditioning but the ceiling fans worked. Great location near to beach and shop, good choice of food. Would recommend to familes or couples. My boys went to the kids club and really enjoyed which was a first for us. We hope to go back next year.

Room Tip: We stayed at room 110 not to far away from the main pool.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2012 via mobile

Enjoyed a 10 night stay in September 2012, travelled as a couple and stayed in a 2 bedroom bungalow, No. 89.

We found all staff at all times to be pleasant and very friendly, never saw a member of staff not smiling. Also they were hard working, always cleaning, gardening, serving, collecting glasses, the complex is obviously very well managed, we had a problem with our safe on the last day and maintenance attended and repaired within 10 minutes.

We were all inclusive, the drinks were OK, beer not watered down and my wife enjoyed the local spirits. As well as bar service there is a help yourself station for beer, wine, soft drinks and coffee, an excellent idea, really cuts down on the queues. The food was edible, nicely prepared, plenty of choice and you could eat yourself silly but we found it a little unexciting and quite bland after a few days.

The bungalow was very spacious, I have stayed in hotel rooms smaller than just the bedroom. As mentioned we had 2 bedrooms so loads of storage, adequate bathroom, lounge / sitting area and a small kitchenette with the all important fridge and kettle. We also had a small raised balcony, ample room on it for 4 people around a table. Lots of previous reviews have mentioned the lack of air con, we considered it a major let down, the bungalow was extremely hot and ours did not face the sun, can't imagine how hot it would have been if it had faced the sun.

It is essentially a family resort and even out of season there were an awful lot of children, however we knew that when we booked so our own fault, just didn't realise there would be quite so many.

Can't comment on the evening entertainment, we saw the advertisements and decided not to bother, it is mainly based around children. The daytime animation team were all very pleasant and not too pushy as we have witnessed before, if you declined their invitation to join in they accepted it without making you feel guilty.

Wifi is available in reception and the pool bar, our bungalow wasn't too far from reception so we could pick it up on our balcony, it was adequate in the early morning but quickly slowed down unless you visited one of the hotspots.

In a perfect world the complex would have an adult only bar, air conditioning and wifi in all areas.

Really enjoyed our stay at Parque Cristobal and the resort of Playa de las Americas, would recommend.
