“Great value, lovely holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2014 via mobile

Just had a week here, the hotel is very clean & staff courteous & helpful at all times. Have to agree with other reviews as hotel probably ready for a slight makeover but all in all well kept. The food was great n something for even the fussiest eaters, all freshly cooked n lots of it. Would recommend all inclusive here, can't fault having waiter service to your table n having real glasses ( other than round pool ) , good snack service for those who miss breakfast, lunch etc.
Most guests had been here many times which is always a good sign, and we also plan to return as had a great relaxing holiday which has been completely value for money. Would strongly recommend staying here

Having been to Tenerife several times we thought that we would go to this hotel based on the reviews. Stayed for 1 week in December, hotel was not the friendliest in Tenerife. Restaurant managers we found to be quite rude and arrogant. Very regimental. Food was ALWAYS COLD no matter what time we went down for evening meal. Food was very bland and not a lot of choice. Husband was ill with an upset stomach for 3 days out of the week that we were there. Rooms were of a good size and very clean. Towels changed daily and sheets changed regularly. Brilliant view of the mountains from the lifts. I think that the hand towel in the bathroom hanging next to the toilet was a health hazard and we actually hung ours on the hooks but when the maid changed the towel it was put back by the toilet. We will not return back to this hotel when we visit Tenerife again in the winter.

This hotel is geared for families with great facilities to keep them occupied each day and into the late evening. The staff were mostly friendly and helpful. The food was excellent with plenty of choice.
A huge pool area with pools adapted for all ages. The pool recliners were being booked as early as 7.30am. We went to the beach every day as my wife is afraid of cats, so would not go near the pool area.
The bedrooms, though comfortable, are old fashioned and badly designed. A few examples of what I mean; the “bedside” light switches are placed on the headboard over the bed, so if you sit up in bed the lights go on or off, there are only two tiny drawers located in the bottom of the wardrobe ( OK if you are staying overnight, but not if you are staying 14 nights) only one bedside open-plan locker between the two beds, in the bathroom a towel hangs directly alongside the toilet and would definitely be contaminated by the first male user if not removed.

The hotel made a great effort for Christmas dinner and added a nice touch with Mariachi type strolling musicians serenading us during the meal.
The New Years evening dinner was disappointing for us, I suppose as we had stayed in the Volcano hotel next door (geared for the older generation) on two occasions, we expected it to be party formal dress, where it was just another dinner followed by the usual nightly entertainment.
I made two complaints during our stay, the first was minor about there only being one english speaking TV channel – Sky news – The response from reception was just to confirm that I got it right. The second was more serious, about the shower that had the cheapest plastic shower head with huge nozzle holes that allowed most of the water to just fall directly downward as if it was a tap raised up the wall and go wasting down the drain, with the remaining poor sprinkle that came outwards changing from scalding to cold. Nothing was done about the shower so I had lukewarm to cold showers until I returned home.
I was amazed in this energy saving era, that our air condition stayed on even when you removed your card or opened the balcony door. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but will look elsewhere on our next visit.

Room Tip: If you are looking for a room with a pool view, go above the 3rd floor

3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2014

Stayed for 2 weeks in December in a room on the 4th floor and it took us several minutes after walking up and down the corridor several times to locate our room, it was the only room with no number on the door, we went to reception eventually to tell them, they just shrugged their shoulders and said ok, it was still the same when we left 2 weeks later ( probably still is)
The hotel is in need of a refurbishment, compared to other hotels in the area it looks old and grubby. The rooms are quite large with old fashioned furniture and bed covers, we couldn't close the curtains properly, they did not fit !
They have a very dated policy of showing people to a table in the dining room, if it was a 5 star I could understand it, we have stayed in 5 stars and you expect that but not in a 3 star, that is what this hotel should be.
We travelled with first choice and our rep Dan was very helpful and friendly.
The pool area gets a bit crowded, if you go further back away from the pool bar it's better, the problem I had with the pool bar is that almost everyone smokes there and it was like walking through a thick smoke haze around there it was awful. What they need to do is make one side of the bar for the smokers and the other side for us guests who want to breathe and not cough all the time, I hated that. We were outnumbered by Germans by about 6 to 1 so if you don't mind that ok.
The food in the restaurant was not particularly nice, often cold with cheap cuts of meat, and a lot of German food, tables were often reserved for the Spanish guests who were waited on hand and foot.
The piano bar was nice, the staff were quick and friendly apart from one barman who ignored people and seemed to spend most of his time talking to the Spanish, not even sure they were staying there, I think they just used the hotel.
The hotel is in a great location near the beach and some lovely shops, all in all it was ok but I would not return or recommended it.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else

Best Tenerife strives hard to provide an atmosphere for a good family holiday and generally succeeds. The layout is spacious, although the 1980s jungle theme is now rather outdated. Everything seems to proceeds in an efficient manner and all the staff are pleasant.
Of course, being ‘all-in’ we overdid the eating a bit, but couldn’t match the numerous, but good-natured, Glaswegians and Liverpudlians in the drinking (or body art) stakes.
I’m looking forward to enjoying a good malt whisky and/or a Gordon’s gin, when I get home later today as the secondary brands supplied were on the thin side.
The images of the swimming pool are misleading. I was one of the very few who swam in the big pool, as the water was head-pounding cold.
Despite the notices, there was a daily early morning rush to reserve sun beds and you can’t blame the Germans either, as I never heard any Deutsch.
The weather was superb and the beaches were very good. (Don’t miss the sunsets, with the surfers using the last shards of light to ride the impressive waves.)
After this good experience, we’ll probably return for winter sun in Tenerife, but probably go for self-catering next time.

PS Nobody pestered us for time-share – a very pleasant surprise!

Room Tip: Our room faced north, so no sun whatsoever, but good view of volcano!

I stayed here from 28 DEC 13 TO 4TH JAN 14 for new year.We were in room 112 , it was a pretty standard room. The tv was a old tv which only had 1 tv channel (which was english) and was sky news. The Quality of the tv was not so good. However when i went pass another room which was room 132 i think , they had a flat screen samsung tv.

The quality of the breakfast wernt really nice , they had fatty bacon , frankfurts etc.If you get an omellete get it plain as getting it with other stuff the chef wont cook it properly.

The quality of the tea was ok 4/5 stars. The hotdogs and hamburgers were cold and tasted like they had been microwaved but however the desert and rest of the stuff was AMAZING! The beach is about 5 minutes walking and the hotel is close to a supermarket, The beach was really rocky on the sea so we ended up going to a beach near the hesperia troya hotel about 10 minutes waking. The room includes a safe u have to pay for and also a countertop fridge.

The photo displays dust the maid never polished , the mattress was a memory foam one and was nice, the pillows were a long pillow to fit a double bed. A cheap family bar is like 1 minute walking called ROSYS BAR , when going out the hotel do a right then a left and you should find it. 1.50€ for a 300ml coke. For the price of the holiday it was 2700£ for half board for 2adults 1 kid including flights and transfer. If your looking for a half board hotel cheap then i would advise you going to a diff hotel as it would probably be cheaper.

Room Tip: If your room has bad tv quality compliain and they should move you to a flat screen tv room
