“Excellent value , good location, great service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2012 via mobile

My husband and I stayed here the week before Xmas . We had booked half board with T Cook which costed £440 each. After the first night we uograded to AI at 20 euros each per night. The food was very nice and drinks choice was excellent. The bedrooms were ok although we were placed in a room overlooking the road at first, but the reception staff gave us a pool view with no hassle. This hotel is very nicely positioned in the modern parr of playa de las americas, not too far from the sea front either. We both enjoyed our stay here and would happily stay here again

Stayed here all Inclusive with several friends 27/12/11 till 3/01/12, all had good time, but doubt we will return. Hotel was I would say, 4star, rooms were clean and serviced every day, staff were great, food was good, always some thing for us to eat and enjoy. Yes we did suffer from no hot water on a couple of occasions, but no great hardship, and soon recovered, and surely to be expected at times with every one taking a bath or shower at same times. All Inclusive was not quite all inclusive, silly things like having to pay for slush, or capachino seemed pointless on the grand scale of things, but we certainly did not have any probems getting served at any time, the bar staff even replenished our drinks several times with out us asking, and we even got waiter service in the piano bar. 11-30pm for the all inclusive to finish was a little early from past experiances, but as said by a previous reviewer, if you have not had enough to drink by then then may be you need to enrol in AA, or buy a drink at reasonable prices at the bar after that. Getting a sun bed was difficult to impossible, with people putting towels on them at all hrs of the day and night to reserve them, we even heard some one saying they were putting the towels out at 1am new years Day, very sad and should of been acted on by the hotel, especially as they had signs up saying it was not allowed. The New Years Eve Gala was an experiance, althought the food on this occasion was not to any of our liking as already mentioned by others, that said, but we enjoyed the atmosphere and the splendour of the occasion and appreciated the work that must of gone into it. The entertainment was poor for adults, and was aimed at children, with jugglers and dancing dogs etc, the kids loved it. I have nothing against kids, or kids enjoying them selves, but if the Hotel wats to entertain kids till midnight, then it should of had an adult only bar with adult entertainment. We did like the Hotel, but to many kids running about at all hrs for our liking, great if you are a young family with young children, but not for us Im afraid, in our 50,s with grown up children, and we now wish for some us time, which was not available at this Hotel, definatly a Hotel for families.

Room Tip: Keep away from rooms 625/626, air con on roof will disturb your sleep, but go for high floor, and gr...

We arrived 4 hours later than planned due to being delayed,so we had been up since 3.30am, upon arrival at hotel we were asked if one couple from our group would stay at another hotel up the road for one night and then we could all have 'all inclusive' for the rest of our stay. Well it was an easy decision 'no!', me in a wheelchair and mother-in-law (87 years old) also in a wheelchair, who goes?? So annoyed straight away, got sorted after awhile but I don't know what that 'staying in another hotel for one night' is all about as throughout our stay it was quite a common thing that a few guests we spoke to had actually done and they were really pleased with the offer - well i am afraid i wasn't.

Stayed at this hotel from dec 27th 2011 till 3rd jan 2012, great hotel, great staff, great meals, clean rooms, plenty choice of food, the only thing i could fault was the snobs who think they where in a 5 star hotel, i could not fault it, if you expect 5 star pay 5 star, best hotel is a 4 star, and a well deserved 4 star, i would go back time after time

We stayed for one week just before Christmas and were very happy with our choice of hotel. We emailed the hotel before leaving England and requested a room on the 6th floor overlooking the pool and we were very happy to find they had given us Room 615 with a sunny balcony all morning which avoided the need to try and find a sunbed that hadn't already been "booked". There were plenty of available sunbeds actually, just that the empty ones in the morning were in the shade, so it was more pleasant on our balcony.

Our room had two double beds and was very clean. The maids were excellent. The bathroom has a slight damp problem, which made the wallpaper a little damp in the bedroom but this had been painted over and didn't bother us at all - there was no damp smell.

Toiletries are provided in the bathroom and are topped up every day. We ended up with 6 bottles of shampoo and 6 of shower gel, as we were using our own.

The hotel stall are all extremely helpful and polite, including Receptiopn, and the wine waiters in the evening were amazingly quick to serve you on sitting down.

We ate early every evening and the food was always hot. The selection of salads on offer is amazing and we could really have just dined on these, they were so plentiful. The Waldorf Salad and the Salade Nicoise were especially good. At breakfast time we mostly went to the chefs at the end of the restaurant who were cooking omlettes and fried eggs, so you could always count on a hot fried egg. The bacon is not good but that goes for Spanish bacon anywhere. There was so much choice of hot meals - fish dishes every night, plus chicken and other meats. There was a speciality dish every night being cooked by the chefs too. Pasta was available every night with two or three different sauces.

There are also several coffee and tea stations in the restaurant but the best coffee is from the Douwe Egberts machine on the swimming pool side of the restaurant. Delicious.

We went to the Piano Bar only one night but were served almost immediately even though it was busy in there. We didn't look for the other entertainment as we went out walking down "the Strip" each evening. This is just around the corner from the Hotel and comprises many bars, cafes, restaurants, boutiques, jewellers and other shops. Alternatively you could cross the road from the Hotel and walk past the Hotel Siesta and then turn right there and walk down the main shopping area towards Playa de las Americas. All very pleasant.

Our most enjoyable part of the holiday was the ability to walk for a long distance, through Playa de las Americas, through Puerto Colon and right to the far end of Costa Adeje along a purpose built promenade. There is seating and toilet facilities along the way and towards the end is the pretty Geranium Walk. In the other direction from the Hotel you could walk from the beach through Los Cristianos and right the way to the harbour where the ferries can take you to Las Gomera.

We very much enjoyed our holiday. The swimming pool area is very pretty and the waterfall area is lovely. We also overlooked the Vulcano swimming pool next door but this looked quite small and also the sunbeds are very regimented in rows at the Vulcano as they are in fixed positions under long sunroofs. Also the Vulcano is very close to a couple of bars which has lively music in the evening. Fortunately our patio doors shut this noise out from our room but I wouldn't have wanted to be any nearer.

So, don't be put off by the bad reviews. The hotel does look a little tired from the outside but this is because it is built from stone and has natural stone chippings all over it whereas most of the other hotels have been painted bright white, or as in the case of the Hotel Mare Nostrum, shrimp pink and the Cleopatra - bright blue.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the 5th or 6th floors where you will get beautiful views of the coast and sea in t...

We stayed at the hotel in November, we had read some bad reviews on the Hotel, we need'nt have worried, it is by far one of the best hotels we have stayed in, the food was really nice and we enjoyed every meal we had, the staff in the restaurant are friendly polite and helpful, well done to them for all the hard work they do.
Bar Staff were so friendly and we had a chat and a laugh with them every night special thanks to bar staff Lucki, Yussef, Antonio, and all the rest of the crew they were great and nothing was too much trouble for them to do
The room was cleaned every day, clean towels, and room always smelt fresh when we returned.
A big thank you to all the staff at this hotel, we will be returning this year, Jim & jackie

Room Tip: Rooms on the second floor were spacious we were in 225
