“Good and Bad”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2014

Just returned following a week at this hotel.
First the positives. Great location beside the beach, food excellent we were half board - restaurant well run with great staff. Room cleaned thoroughly every day.
Negatives - real problems booking in at reception, some staff didn't seem to be confident and it was a long drawn out process, other staff very efficient and did come to assist.
The sunbed situation was something else. People queuing from 8am with towels in hand. I watched as they charged - it looked like they were heading to the January sales. We personally didn't reserve a lounger as a note was put to say not to to on our first day. We like to walk in the morning after breakfast so when we came back at 11.30 there no loungers left. On our last day we did put our towels on the loungers and when we returned at 11.05 am they had been removed together with our personal belongings which were threw in the tub with the towels at the pool.
I would not return to this hotel - I have stayed in other H10 hotels and have never experiened anything like this.

Room Tip: Book seaview room.

Firstly I would like to say this hotel is as clean as I have ever experienced and is located well, but now the downside.
I travel across Europe just about every month and I have stayed in Tenerife in 11 different hotels, and the food in the Las Palmeras is without question the worst I have experienced in the last ten years.
The breakfast is so bad I gave up on it on the 2nd day. One coffee machine and never any queues because it was vile! Eggs weren't cooked properly (always raw) and there wasn't anything I could say was half-decent.
The evening meal was simply a joke. Meat wasn't cooked, fish was either burnt or raw, and in some cases both! Overcooked on the outside - raw on the inside.
The "personal touch" where you watch the food being cooked backfired because when there were queues (and that was always!) the cook would splash the meat/fish on the stove, turn it over, and place it on the plate ... always raw!
I lasted three days and I gave up on the meals entirely.
I reported it to the hotel and asked for a refund for the remaining seven days of my stay.
The PR gentleman said: "If you get a refund you will be the first. NOBODY gets a refund at THIS hotel!"
Charming.
I ate out seven out of ten days, and I have never done that before. And don't forget what the PR guy said: "NOBODY HAS EVER HAD A REFUND FROM THIS HOTEL".

Be warned!

Room Tip: I won't be going back. But rooms were very good.

Went to this hotel for a long weekend with a friend. Nicely positioned at the beach with easy access from the hotel. Our room was very clean and comfortable. We were all inclusive and the restaurant was fabulous with lots of variety with buffet foods or meat and fish dishes cooked fresh every night and it was opened for long hours for all 3 meals during the day. Drinks easily accessible all day and plenty of choice. Snacks available around the pool during the day. My only small criticisms would be sometimes we waited a long time at the bar and also could have done with a kettle in the room. Would consider going back.

Well positioned hotel right on beach with walks along bay to Los Cristianos.
Very clean hotel, well maintained. Comfortable.
We had sea view rooms and they were perfectly adequate. Had to pay extra for safety deposit box. No kettle in room.
Plenty of beds round pool, nice garden area. However, built on a slope, so although there are plenty of ramps, disabled access may be an issue.
Food in self service restaurant, good quality and varied.
We were AI, drinks good quality and easily accessible. Snacks at pool bar available during middle of day.
Can't comment on entertainment.
Teenage children(17 and 15) were a little bored, not many people their age-either smaller children or middle aged/more elderly couples.
Weather good.
Plenty of shops within easy walking distance and a Lacoste shop just outside the hotel (too convenient for my teenagers!).
Would probably consider going back.

Room Tip: Sea view was nice and may well be quieter.

We didn't stay in the hotel but did vist the restaurant on the prom that is part of the hotel.. and it was so good I felt I had to write a reveiw.
Firstly the view is fantastic, overlooking the sea. The staff are really friendly and helpful. We were recommended the king prawns by one of the waiters, which we had and were fantastic. In fact, we went back for lunch here for 4 days and had the prawns!! washed down with a lovely glass of white wine. I cannot recommend this highly enough. The price is very reasonable too. Thank you to the staff for such a lovely gem of a seafront restaurant.

This is the first time I've stayed In PDLA and mustsay this hotel is really well positioned. Easy to walk to Los Cristianos or Puerto Colon/Costa Adeje which I alternated every morning.

The all inclusive package is great value for money especially as it includes branded drinks rather than just the local brands. There is cava available every morning although I'm not sure that the best idea !!!! Freshly cooked omelette/pancakes super selection of smoothies -lots of choice.

All meals are buffet style plenty of choice.

The seaview rooms are lovely everything you need and decent bathroom. The mattresses were (in our room) firm. When the hairdryer went 'bang' it was replaced extremely quickly.

Pool area spotless and the heated pool in March was bliss!!!

Staff always helpful and on our final day - courtesy room availabe.

Asit was the last week of March it was 'Carnaval' which got our week off to a great startwith dancing in the streets.

Nothing I could really fault about the hotel close enough to walk into the Safari centre at night or to Los Cristianos - plenty of bars and restaurants nearby if you fancied a change.

Room Tip: High floor sea view and you can enjoy the view over to La Gomera (not always visible)

Just got back from a fantastic holiday here and can recommend it to anyone! It took me ages to look at hotels and I do check Tripadvisor so was reassured by the great reviews and the being there was even better than the photos. The location was great, plenty of shops nearby and the beach 2 minutes walk away. The hotel itself and grounds are gorgeous, so many areas to relax in and around the hotel and the pools were terrific. We absolutely loved the largest cold pool...like going into a plunge pool at first, but so refreshing in the hot weather. It was a real laugh to hear all the screams as people got into the pool, very entertaining!

The food was awesome, such an amazing choice and beautifully presented, we looked forward to every meal and only wanted to do half board as we find we don't really want to eat anything at lunch time and this worked really well...we did go a bit overboard with the cocktails every night as they were lovely!!

The room we had was great, on the 2nd floor and set away from the other rooms bar one, overlooking the fab view at the front of the hotel. The one niggle was we had to run the hot tap for ages to finally get hot water each time and felt this was such a waste of water. The room and hotel were spotless, in fact it was comical how often the yellow cleaning in progress signs appeared! We'd get a room with sea view next time (booking for next year here definately!

We enjoyed the entertainment on the whole, some acts were a bit old hat, but we were so happy to be able to dance every night as my husband and I love modern jive...we were also some of the youngest there and that was great to feel so young. Younger people were arriving during the school hols so it obviously suits any age.

All in all, fab hotel, wonderful attentive staff and amazing food, well done Las Palmeras!!!

Room Tip: 281 was great, away from the entertainment an on the front of the hotel at one corner so great views...
