“Very loud music from nearby bars until 3.30 a.m.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

On arrival the hotel looked very nice, and spotlessly clean. Our room on the 7th floor was small but clean.Sea view was fantastic. The really old-fashioned musical entertainment was actually held outside in the hotel grounds for the first four nights of our stay, directly under many of the sea-view rooms. The racket went on until about 1.00 a.m. or so each night, so forget trying to get to sleep any earlier. Even when that finally stopped, the incredibly loud heavy-metal music from the late bar across the way continued until as late as 3.30 on several nights of our 'holiday'. The closed balcony doors did nothing to block out the noise, although if they were sound-proofed it would solve the problem. We did eventually ask to change rooms, and the receptionist was very accommodating in arranging this for us, but it really didn't make much difference to the noise levels late at night.
Our change of room to the second floor also brought a change in the standard of cleaning. I had to call reception and request a change of bed-linen after 6 nights! The linen was then changed on the beds but not the pillows!!!! The rest of the room and the balcony were barely cleaned for the duration of our stay in this room, 215.
I didn't find the food very tasteful or very hot. On one occasion my husband chose to have two boiled eggs for his breakfast, but couldn't even eat those as they were almost raw and poured out of the shell!
If we wanted a fridge installed in our room, we had to pay a one-off charge of €12, which included 6 tiny bottles of water. After that, you were responsible for buying in your own bottled water.
If you wished to have a remote-control for your T.V. there was a deposit of €20, refunded when you handed it back!
If you required an iron and ironing- board you had to pay for it by the week, I believe €15 plus another deposit of €20. At this stage I started to laugh....
On the plus side, we found the hotel itself and the pool areas were very well maintained, and we found every single member of staff to be very pleasant.
I was very disappointed however that after working hard all year long ourselves, my husband and I were unable to enjoy the much-needed rest that we had saved for and so looked forward to!

Room Tip: Reading earlier reviews, noise from the late-night bars seems to affect rooms in different areas of...

We were travelling with a 2 year old so the room worked nice with a wall between the beds and the sofa/tv area. During night time it was quite noisy due to load music coming from the discos close by. Noise from other rooms were non-existing. Breakfast was good with a lot of different foods to choose between. The aqua-gym was also fun.

Room was clean and bright with a balcony (7th floor, sea view), boasting a king size bed and contemporary decor. The En Suite being well finished and spacious. The hotel in general was light, modern and airy and offered a more than reasonable variety of food at both breakfast and dinner. To avoid the 'Canteen Rush' experience breakfast, in my opinion, is best enjoyed before 8am and dinner @ 7pm or after 20:30. The grounds are pleasant with 2 adult pools (one on the small side) and one childrens' pool. The pool area was quite crowded but to be expected in 28 degree heat @ any hotel boasting full occupancy as we understood was the case during our stay! There was the usual sunbed reserving and a queue actually formed each morning outside at the cordons ready to bolt (literally!) when security permitted access to the pool area lol! Direct access from the hotel grounds to the promenade/beach is definitely a bonus of staying here. Overall we enjoyed our stay @ Las Palmeras and would have no hesitation recommending it to our friends : )

2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012

We have just returned from a week at the las palmeras and had a lovely week but mainly due to the lovely weather rather than the hotel.
The hotel itself is ok (though not four star) and the food is good. Some of the staff are lovely and go out of their way to help. The kids entertainment team (mini club) were fab and my two kids loved the daytime activities and kids disco in the evening.
However... We went all inclusive and wished we hadn't. You have to get your own drinks from a drinks machine at dinner and at the bar whilst other guests are served drinks. The wine that is on all inclusive tastes awful and smells even worse! We had quite a dry week!! The hotel was fully booked and seriously over crowded .... Mainly by humourless / grumpy hotel guests ( Brits are in the minority here!). The overcrowded ness meant that mealtimes were like a scrum and we learnt to put our elbows out and battle amongst the crowd. You had to queue up by a barrier at the poolside by 8am at the latest in order to get a sunbed only to be let in by a member of staff to commence battle for a sun lounger. We set our alarm for seven thirty every day so that we could do this.... not very relaxing but it was a necessity with two little ones as we needed a parasol for some shade during the day. My little girl was knocked over in the restaurant by another hotel guest who was so intent on getting her food she didn't even stop to say sorry, as such she has returned home with a bruise on her forehead. The pool bar is understaffed and you have to wait for ages for the poor bar man to get to you.... Us Brits are good at queuing however others aren't quite so good! Enough said! The ice cream ran out for 2 days whilst we were there and the kids were disappointed as this is part of their holiday. We have been to so many all inclusive hotels in different countries and have never felt that all inclusive guests were treated any different from those who were not all inclusive however there was definitely a difference at the las palmeras.
The kids loved the mini club and the disco and this made their week as they made some lovely friends. however... once the mini disco is finished the kids are given strict instructions by the kids club staff to stay off the dance floor as its time for the adults to dance. except none of the adults danced and the dance floor remained empty!
There was no porter on our arrival and so myself and my mum dragged cases, buggy and two small children to the room. We asked for a porter to help on our last day but were told that they don't start work till 11am. After quite a grumble from us about this as we were a tad fed up by this stage, the receptionist did send someone down to help with our cases.
On a positive note we were greeted by a lovely receptionist on our arrival who offered us a bungalow in order to have more room for the kids and this was very much appreciated.
All in all we had a good week as much of this caused us great amusement however by the end of the week our patience and sense of humour had run out. We won't be going back!

4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012

Stayed here 12th to 26th October.

We spotted this hotel last year while having a drink in a bar just in front of the hotel. we asked a few people what they thought and we didn't get a single negative comment.

It came up at a competitive price while looking to book this trip so there we went!

We checked in at lunch time on Friday, always a busy day. We were delighted to be processed immediately by a very efficient receptionist. I think she was Dutch but her English was excellent.

We were asked if we needed assistance with our bags, which we didn't and we were given our two swipe card room keys.
I hadn't booked any particular room requirement so didn't expect the best. We were on the 5th floor over looking the main road and path towards the promenade. Nice view of Teide from the balcony! There was a constant noise coming from the huge air conditioning fans that we overlooked. They were not directly below us but if we opened the patio door we could usually smell breakfast or dinner!
The noise of the fans didn't bother us but it was ever present throughout the night.
There wasn't much in the way of other noise overnight and the beds were comfortable,

The room was quite narrow but adequate for us. The bathroom was relatively spacious and it was clean and in good order.

We could have used a bit more hanging space in the wardrobe as we don't travel lightly, but again it wasn't an issue.
There was a TV in the room but if you wanted a remote there was a deposit to pay at reception.
Typical TV content, with BBC World and the like.

We were half board but I think the majority of guests were All Inclusive.
Breakfast was of a high standard and had a broad selection. We were up early many mornings so didn't see it busy very often. On the mornings we did have a lie in we still found a table without a problem.
There seemed to be a huge number of efficient staff who cleared tables quickly (too quickly some times!).

We didn't use the pool because we always spend our days at Las Vistas beach where I go diving with Aqua Marina Diving. It looks like there were quite a lot of sun beds and plenty of sunny areas round the pool.
The pool area was cordoned off over night to prevent people trying to reserve beds with towels.
We giggled at the queue of people waiting with their towels from 8am onwards for the pool to be opened. Bit of a mad dash!

At evening meal the dining room was never too crowded even though the hotel was very busy. Little queueing at the buffet and no shoving that we saw. Staff were very efficient and very polite and friendly.
The food selection does repeat in the second week but it does at home too! It was always well presented and kept clean and tidy.
We never struggled to find a table.

There are 4 lifts and most of the time there is little waiting. At peak times a few people were getting impatient at the longer waits.

There is a small bar at reception level called the Piano Bar. After dinner there was often someone playing a tune there. We ended our evening there a few times and found it quite relaxing. The main bar man there was Gabriel who was very entertaining and an expert fruit sculptor!

Out and about we spent a few evenings in The Bell in front of the hotel. It's karaoke night every night and the host is Tony Breeze. He's a great singer and John, the owner knows how to pack them in. We had too many late nights in there....

At the end of our stay we had our bar bill to settle. Having kept all our receipts we were pleased to see that it was correct and not as expensive as we'd expected.
Check out was straight forward and took a couple of minutes.

We paid a bit more for this holiday than we normally do but I think it was well worth it and we wouldn't hesitate to return there in future.

Room Tip: The higher floors on east facing side have great views of Teide!

Stayed alinclusive for 1 week from 16th october. We upgraded to a seaview room, well worth it as the room was great. I cannot fault anything about the hotel. All staff were very friendly and always happy to help you. Plenty of choice at mealtimes and the snacks were good also. Bar staff always happy to make you a cocktail or get you what you wanted. We will be back.

We recently come back from 2 weeks holiday in Tenerife we've stayed in H10 Las Palmeras which is a lovely hotel. First we've got the room on the 7th floor but wasn't happy with it went to the reception and they've changed our room with no problem. The whole hotel was very clean the food was lovely and all the staff very friendly. During the day there was so many activities that we took part in and evening entertainment was great. A big thank you to all the staff for making our stay so nice and special thank you to Laura Lucia and Vicente who made as laugh and kept as busy during the day lovely lovely people. Definitely would go back xxx
