“What is everyone complaining about!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2013

Im just back from this hotel with my boyfriend and we had the best week ever. Im an opinionated person and have stayed in lovely hotels around the world and this hotel was great! Its not a 5 star hotel and if you are expecting it to be you will be disappointed but for the money we paid it was great. The facilities are class, there are over 3 pools to choose from (the main pools are in the shade) but there is one at the back of the hotel that is a sun trap and there is a roof terrace with a hot tub! (you have to pay a few euros for half an hour)
There is a spa with an infinity heated pool and various different treatments and there is no shortage of sun beds.
The food was also great, there was always a wide varitety to choose from and even some unusual meats such as goat, tuna, venison etc and they were all lovely. Breakfasts were great and again plenty to choose from.
I have very little to complain about with this hotel. If I was being fussy, some of the staff were'nt that pleasant and our bed linen could have been changed more than once, but that is it. We paid £468 for a weeks all inclusive and it was worth every penny, I would recommend this hotel to anyone and really struggle to understand some of the other reviews, where they staying in the same hotel as us and what do they expect from a 3 star hotel in Spain?? Defo consider this for your holiday.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back of the hotel i.e. not looking over the pool, as at the back you get all t...

After reading up on trip adviser i thought to myself some ppl can be to fussy..I have stayed in many a hotel from low cost to 5* but this one does not live up to its name.We arrived 29th Jan and weather was great..in the appartment was nice and comfortable but as we were half board there wasnt as much as a kettle in the room..we had to rent one and ask for 2 cup's..spoon etc...There was a lovely flat screen tv only prob was ya had two English channels..BBC 1..ITV4..so if you still like catching up on your soaps you have no chance, also it had a pay box which just ate the money..around 1euro for 30mins or so..we heard there was a lot of complaints about it.
Being half board we had breakfast and main meal; They brought the bacon out an it looked like it was threw in2 the oven and left to cook..was swimming in oil..bread wasnt fresh and trying to get a clean table was pot luck..I cannott blame it on the staff as they tryed there best to keep up as there was only two on the floor and run of their feet.
Tea time was worse..2 workers on the floor trying to clear up and table's with used plates on them..the cue to eat was embarrasing..meat you cld have bounced of the wall was like rubber..food over all discusting..but if your looking a quick fix to weight loss this is the place to go~i was starvn the whole 10days. Also in the dinning room there was a water container which said..WATER FOR AI ONLY..discrace and waist of money..would i recomend it to a friend NO..and if you have problems with walking hills it wld not be recomended either. Another thing was the noise,,if this is what its like in winter i wldnt like to see it in summer..the music went on to the small hrs around the hotel so was hard to no were it was coming from..Beds were changed and rooms cleaned so cannot fault that but all round i wldnt go back..

Room Tip: Rooms at the back where there's less noise.

We have just returned fro. The Colombus which was very very disappointing. The first room we got locked in as the lock was broken and 1 1/2 hrs later we were finally given a new room, this room never did lock but at least we could get out. Our room was overlooking a very busy dual carriageway and near the hospital so the noise was an issue all the time. So the balcony door had to stay shut. The hotel has 5 swimming pools, all cold water, so they lie on their web page. If you go all inclusive you have to pay for drinks in the restaurant. If you want to use the air con you have to pay for it extra. If you want a safe it is 15 euros a week and you have to lie down on the floor and reach to the back of the wardrobe to access it. If you want TV you have to feed the slot machine. Some of the reception staff were quite rude to guests. The entertainment was dreadful some of the singers should be shot. Elvis must be turning in his grave. Worst of all were the beds, so old and lumpy that Noah must have had them on his Ark. The best part of the hotel is that it appears clean and the cleaning staff were lovely and helpful. It is just a pity that the Managers haven't taken a leaf out of their book.

We have just arrived home and we stayed half board at the columbus. We were quite impressed as we normally only go self catering but we didnt regret it. The food was nice and there was a good choice of dishes changed daily. Breakfast is between 8am-10am and evening meal was 6.30pm-9pm so you could eat when it suited. The only time there was a long queue was when England were playing and everyone wanted to eat early to watch the match! The rooms were cleaned and the towels changed daily and were really spacious. You get a fridge in the room but no kettle and you dont get drinks with half board so pack a travel kettle if you want a hot drink in your room. They charge you 15 Euros a week to hire one! Not all the balconies get the sun and some rooms only have a shower not a bath so put this on your booking form. The hotel is in a great location with everything nearby easy to find.We had no trouble with noise and the staff are pretty friendly apart from the ones in the dining room. Theres one in particular that didnt smile the whole time we were there and shes English so youd think shed be a little happier living out there in the sun!

Room Tip: ask for a sunny balcony and a room with a bath. They all come with hairdyers and theres a superb roo...

My friends and I returned from Tenerife yesterday and we had a lovely stay. I would say the only thing we felt needed replacing were the grey worn out towels.

Very friendly staff and plenty of choice on the buffet style meals. We had half board.
