“Excellent value for money!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

We took our first trip to this hotel wanting a warm break in the New Year. We had been to Tenerife on numerous occasions previously, but wanted to stay somewhere that would not break the bank and that came with recommendations (thanks to previous contributors). We had been advised to book an ocean view room and asked for a high level with afternoon sun and got exactly what we ordered! The balcony gave a good view of the ocean from where we could watch the ferries going and returning to Los Cristanos. The pool was also in full view. Yes, the furnishings in the room are tired and ideally need a refurb, but all was clean and as I said the price was right. I would recommend the hotel putting some info in the rooms re what to do if you want a towel change. After a few days I put the dirties in the bath and this seemed to work. The room fridges are empty and although it states there is a small daily charge to hire them keys were free at reception. An excellent supermarket is located opposite the Santiago Park complex across the road and a couple of blocked left of the hotel. We stayed b&b only. The breakfasts were plentiful, but could be improved by offering freshly squeezed orange juice as many hotels do. The fresh juices were unlabelled and not very appetising, other juices were in a machine. The staff in all areas were friendly and helpful. My husband and I got involved in the poolside games which was great fun and again the staff were great. The music from the nightclub is loud and continues until 11.30pm so if you want to sleep earlier ask for a room well away! We certainly hope to return next year.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the pool have either morning or afternoon sun so make your choice.

I stayed in the Mediterranean palace in Tenerieffe for the 5th time this Feb.
It has never changed and needs a major revamp.
Very old fashioned ,
The marble floors are worn from people traffic.
The reason it is always packed it the location.
So owners please spend a few euros of the fortune you are making or you will be left behind.
Rooms are outdated also and need major surgery.

Room Tip: Don't get a room over the dining room as it's very noisy.

Have just returned from staying at the Mediterranean Palace hotel for 10 days. Definately situated in good position beach located rear end of pool and at front end of hotel you are on a busy street with nice shops and restaurants. The rooms were large enough for us but in need of a repaint job. The breakfast area was busy but to be expected as large hotel with families/children running about. However there was everything you could possibly want for a breakfast and more. Found two plug sockets in room one was however in the wardrobe. Appeared to be plenty going on for kids but only spent one afternoon around pool. It was the same old story towels on beds by at latest 8.30 p.m.
We thought beds were confortable and clean also towels changed everyday if you so wish.

I have read a number of reviews re the Mediterranean Palace , some of them very critical , having stayed there many times over the last 17 years , at all the different hotels Sir Anthony Etc, and even took ten of my sales team .I think you are hard pushed to get a better quality hotel for the money you pay. I have also stayed at the higher quality hotels such as the Bahia del Duque and paid a lot more .The location for the Med palie is perfect , near the beach and right in the centre of everything , the pools are large and everything you would want , can be a bit of scrum in high season for sun beds , unless you are in the Sir Anthony, the customer service is on the whole good the food and buffets are average to good , but I am quite fuzzy, the hotel is definitely clean, the room s are a bit sparse but comfortable , again unless you are at the Sir Anthony. Its great for kids of all ages. the entertainment is the same as any of the other five store hotels in Tenerife , usually the same acts. I would highly recommend it, but and often having spent a week at the Bahia and a week at the Sir Anthony , I have never felt let down by the mare nostrum experiennce

Just returned from staying at the Mediterranean Palace hotel for a week. It is situated in a fabulous position within the resort. The pool area and restaurant were also excellent. That is where the five star experience ends. Walking into the reception is more like walking into an office building reception not too welcoming. The outside of the hotel looks tired and could do with a paint. The bedrooms are small and very tired looking and again could do with a refurb.

When we arrived they mentioned that we could get free WiFi well it would have been wonderful if there was any wifi reception at all. So if we wanted to use the internet we would have to go out of the hotel and use another hotels or cafes internet services.

There is only one plug socket within the room and in this day an age with recharging phones, tablets, kindles etc one socket is just not enough. So please take a multiplug otherwise you will be stuck. The pillows are made from some sort of hard foam and was like sleeping on bullets and gave not support to the neck or head.

PLEASE BE AWARE IF YOU ARE GOING FOR A QUIET HOLIDAY THEN THIS HOTEL IS NOT THE PLACE TO GO. The soundproofing between the rooms the hallway and the street is non-existent you can hear everything.

The breakfast was of a good quality and also an excellent choice. However if you arrive anytime after 8.30am then the queues for the toaster and the tea and coffee machines were very long.

Room Tip: if you can afford it go for a pool view as the street view gets no sun during the day at all and the...

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your opinion.

I´m sorry to read that your experience with us has been mostly negative.

Maybe one of our sister hotels within the resort would have suited your preferences better, as they are not as busy as the Mediterranean Palace.

In all cases I will be happy to welcome you again and take personal care of your booking. Do not hesitate to contact me through our web page for anything you might need. i´ll be glad to assist you.

“This hotel is fantastic for young children as there is a kids club that runs everyday from 10 am till 6 pm (age 6 months till 16 years The kids club is included in the price, it is well managed, well staffed and clean with a massive range of indoor and outdoor activities that allows parents to relax in the sun with piece of mind ... They also eat Lunch in the club There is also actives for adults throughout the day There is also a babysitting night service but this is an additional cost Night entertainment is ok if your a child from 8 pm or an elderly person after 9pm but unfortunately not really suitable for teens or young middle aged adults ( but on the up side your in the best area to find other entertainment out side the hotel The food is to a good buffet standard but I would advise to go half board instead of full as its all very much the same things breakfast is severed from 7am till 10.45 , dinner is served from 1pm till 3pm and tea is from 6pm NO DRINKS INCLUDED WITH MEALS BUT YOU GET CAVA AT BREAKFAST ..... I think they want you to drink for free at breakfast to get the taste and spend more The rooms have old style TV sets , uncomfortable beds and old curtains which is very basic compare to a 5* hotels I've stayed in before The bathrooms are still quite nice for there age though I would recommend to those with more cash to spend to stay next door at the sir Anthony as this is amazing and is 5* standard ... I stayed there at Christmas ..... these belong to the same hotel as the meditranian place and the cleopatra so you can still use kids club etc

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your comments on our Hotel.

I know you have tried several of our hotels and I´m glad to know that you have enjoyed our service in both of them.

As a resort we offer different atmospheres depending on which hotel you choose. The Mediterranean Palace is a family hotel focused on families with children and therefore a bit busier that its sister hotels within the resort.

We will be happy to welcome you at any of our hotels. Do not hesiatte to contact us for anything you might need.

We came to this hotel looking for peace & quiet and lazy days where we could relax in 5* comfort and swim in the beautiful pool - idyllic. Not a chance! At best it is a 3* facility - kids chasing round the marble landings like unattended elephants, cleaners with noisy metal buckets banging as loud a they can mid morning when u want a lie in, atrocious noisy entertainment that you can still hear when both outer and inner room doors are closed, the constant dragging of chairs in surrounding rooms grinds you down, paper thin walls, and noisy arrogant foreigners in both adjacent rooms who shout over each other constantly - no consideration for other guests. The pool has been freezing cold throughout our stay but 'miraculously' became very warm last Friday just in time for the half term families arriving today - how predictable was that! Behind the grand facade of spectacular fountains and 5* luxury lies a very different story. Apologies for inconveniences and pledges of a better experience next time go nowhere to make up for this misrepresentation that needs urgent action - it's a joke! Sir Anthony is the only 5* establishment in this resort, med palace visitors are not allowed in there, cleopatra palace is a building site due to ongoing work at the Hard Rock Cafe which sits within Cleopatra grounds. Location is excellent and we will come to PdlA again but will stay elsewhere on the golden mile as it is beautiful. Hotel staff not overly helpful.

dear Guest,

Thank you for your comments.

I´m sorry to know that your experience with us has been so negative.

By your words I understand that this hotel is too busy for you, as it is family orientated and therefore it needs facilities and services focused on the attention to families, which means more entertainment and a higher number of guests.

As a resort guests you have the possibility of useing our sister hotel facilities, where you can benefit from a quieter atmosphere at the pool area and restaurant.

Unfortunately we can not guarantee that all guests will behave as they are expected to, but any issue could have been easilly solved with a simple call to reception, from where we would have sent somebody to solve the situation with your neighbours.

I must also inform you that the works for the Hard Rock Cafe ended last december, just before the opening. However, due to the unfortunate weather conditions we suffered in January, we have been forced to carry our immediate reparations at the roof of our adjacent building pyramid of Arona, in order to stop the damages caused.

Please, accept our most sincere excuses for the inconveniences.

I´m glad to know though that you have enjoyed the hotel location and surroundings.

Warmest regards,

Esteban Sedano
