“fantastic & brilliant !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

Spent an amazing week at this hotel after being upgraded due to overbooking. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff & we were made to feel very welcome. We we're given a lovely pool view room with free room safe & WiFi. Breakfast was a bit manic at times but there was always fresh food available no matter what time you went in. The food in the restaurant for the evening meal was fantastic, we were spoilt for choice & as fish lovers, Thursday night just made our stay complete. Every choice of fish you could think of. Entertainment was good, we really enjoyed the Motown night. Thank you to everyone for making our stay so enjoyable, can only say it's one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in & hopefully we will be coming back in the future

Room Tip: pool view rooms are the best

“Not 5 star”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012

Just returned from a week in the MP lovely welcome, glass of cava swift check in on to our room,
mountain view. This room looked directly on to the road which overlooks resteraunts shops and bars which are open till at least 1 am( which were loud).
.Breakfast was very good with a very good variety of food, cava every morning and very good service.
Pool area is lovely and lots of room not like sardines like some pool areas however
All this considered IMHO this hotel is not 5 star.
Having stayed in Cleopatra last year we were very disappointed in this hotel.
I would not spend the extra to go back to MP as I think it is no better than the 4 star hotels nearby.

Room Tip: I would not book a mountain view (6042) looks over noisy bars at night.

“Perfect for winter sun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2012

This is the second time we have stayed in the Cleopatra hotel and we found it just as good as the first time. The staff are lovely and the hotel is clean and very spacious. Its location is fantastic - directly onto the promenade next to the beach which means you wake up to the sound of waves gently hitting the shore. A sea view room is a must to really enjoy the view. This hotel is very good value for money. The breakfast is huge with just about everything you could want including on occasion sprouts! This hotel is fantastic if you simply want a relaxing few days. We read by the pool in the morning and went out in the afternoon. It is quiet and well run - perfect for winter sun with the temperatures hitting around 25 degrees.

Room Tip: Sea view is the best room.

“Never 5 star”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2012

We have just returned from our holiday at this hotel. We were completely disgusted with the so called 5 star accommodation at this hotel. The hotel claims to be 5 stars, but the rooms would be lucky to receive a 3 star rating. There was damp, holes in the curtains, plaster hanging off the walls and required updating. We had to pay for the use of the fridge, no tea and coffee facility and after phoning room service for tea and being charged £4.50 it arrives with cling film over the tea pot acting as a lid

“Good Location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2012

My partner and I stayed from 29th October - 4th November 2012 and decided to pay extra for the luxury of a "5 star" hotel, however I don't feel it was luxury at all - aside from the champagne on arrival.
The mountain view is actually a view of the bars and shops, the air conditioning doesn't work and when I complained about it the gentleman at the desk informed me that it didn't work but didn't seem interested in my complaint and wasn't prepared to move us to another room (if air conditioning is essential then don't book this hotel!), the rooms are very dated and although not filthy I felt that for a 5 star hotel you expect a very clean room. We got put on the 2nd floor at the front of the hotel and it was incredibly noisy day & night.
There were cockroaches in the ground floor toilets, and parts of the hotel were taped off out of use. Although the weather was still warm but unfortunately cloudy while we were staying, there was no daytime entertainment offered around the pool side and the poolside bar was closed.
We only paid to have breakfast, and there was a large selection to chose from but the cooked food wasn't very nice - the bacon was impossible to cut and would easily break a tooth it was that hard!!
The spa felt dated and was untidy and not very clean - all the loungers in there had other peoples gowns and towels thrown all over them and it was hard to tell if the people using them were still in the spa or not so we had nowhere to sit and had to put our own gowns on the wet floor.
The rest of the hotel was okay and the water features and grand chandeliers were lovely but I certainly would not book to stay there again, nor would I recommend it.
I feel we could have saved a lot of money and stayed in a 3 or 4 star hotel for less money and possibly a better experience.

Room Tip: My advice would be not to book a room here, but if you still want to then it may be quieter if you b...
