“Very enjoyable trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012 via mobile

Just returned from 9 nights here. We loved it. The reception, bar and cleaning staff were all lovely and friendly. The rooms were spotlessly clean and well equipped. Can't fault anything during our stay. Little Italy just down the road was the best place we ate out at.

“Fantastic!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2012

Excellent! Two fussy teachers who can't rate this hotel highly enough. Our second trip to the Marola since June this year and already we are looking to return. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The reception staff, especially Jose, are very friendly and make every effort to ensure a comfortable stay. The pool is excellent with plenty of good quality loungers. The pool bar serves good food at excellent prices and the 2 for 1 drinks at happy hour is a welcome addition to the service provided. The pool bar would not be the same without the man himself, Tom Martin, Tom is hospitality on legs and his brand of humour and level of customer care are certainly one of the many reasons we will returning next year. This hotel should most certainly have a much higher star rating.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the main street have the sun in the morning and evening. Pool facing rooms are a little...

“A Pleasant Enough Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2012

Arrived mid-afternoon and was efficiently checked in, unlike a lot of others, we weren't asked for a deposit.Very pleasant reception staff, nothing more, nothing less.
The room was clean, bright and airy but very warm, this prompted us to go back to reception and hire a [largely ineffective] fan for €20 + €10 deposit, the room was never really cool enough for my liking and I struggled with sleep most nights. Apart from that it had everything we needed and was well presented and cleaned every day except Wednesday's and Saturday's.
We ventured down to the pool bar a couple of times during the day but never ate there as we're not big fans of burgers and chips etc. and would have preferred a selection of salads/pasta maybe but I can understand it works for the majority so .....? We never tried the breakfast, so can't comment on that. We're not big drinkers so didn't bother with happy hour but it seemed very popular. We usually called for a drink before wandering out for the evening, the staff were friendly and the drinks cheap enough, although we found the little bar/cafe just outside the complex door had a much better selection of tasty food for lunch etc.
The pool area was kept very clean and there was always sunbeds available, we were there for the 2nd week in Oct and most times more than half the beds were unused. Our 1st floor studio room [111] had a nice balcony over-looking the pool. I'm sure some people must be confusing these apartments with the Marola Park next door [the main photo of the [pink] hotel is the wrong one] as all the rooms have a pool view, there are no street view rooms.
111 is about half way down adjacent to the start of the 2nd pool and the end of the 1st, just far enough away from the pool bar to avoid being disturbed by music. Rooms that end in 1 to 6 [103, 205 etc.] are close to and overlook the pool bar and would be ideal if you don't mind the music, it's not in any way OTT but there throughout the day but not at night as the bar closes at 8, you would have the advantage of free WiFi 24/7 on your balcony though, it could just about reach ours but was marginal on my iPhone at that distance.
We enjoyed our stay there and would probably go back, even more so if they offered some rooms with fixed air con.
If you have a hire car, there's ample parking outside.

Room Tip: Rooms that end 1- 6 [103, 205 etc.] overlook the pool bar, higher numbers are at the quieter end
