“Good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2012

I like this ApartHotel for its good location: it is within walking distance to most places, e.g., less than 5 minutes to the Yumbo Center, less than 10 minutes to the beach, and just 1 minute to the shop next door. I have no complaints about it. If I get a good offer price next time, I will stay in this ApartHotel again.

me and my best mate stayed here for our girlie holiday in feb. it wasnt really full as we were not in the summer season, most people were old and lots of Germans. but it was fine as we were the youngest there and livened things up hahah. we had a large room with twin beds, good cooking facilities but no kettle?!?!?! however i read about that in a previous review so it was not such a big shock. our room was cleaned everyday. the balcony was great with a view slightly of the sea as we werent too high up. the appartment was clean, tv was pretty rubbish in you only speak english! we didnt like the fact we had to pay a deposit for the remote control- but you get it back when you hand back the remote.

the appartments are in walking distance of the fab yumbo gay mecca and not so far from our 2nd favourite place the kasbah with all the straight clubs! chinawhite was our 2nd home!!!

if you go out of season you avoid the chaos of the young drunk mostly europeans everywhere as its quieter.

the pool is nice at the back of the complex but we didnt go in, there are some loungers there but we liked the sun deck thing on one of the floors.
there is a supermarket right downstairs, we were there way too much buying cheap wine for like a euro a box! amazing ! and lots of sangria, but ther are cheaper supermarkets in the yumbo and theres an even cheaper hyper market where the locals go somewhere but we didnt have time to find it.

the tourist info isnt far its near the entrance of the yumbo maybe a 10 munute walk away, taxis to the kasbah centre are max 4-5 euros when we we took them at night.

the beach is a short walk away and a pleasent one.

Room Tip: higher floors with a view of the beach which is round the corner

It is not too bad at all for what you are actually paying. I mean when you are going to Playa del Ingles most of your time will be spent away from the hotel and so this is just perfect for it location and its amenities. The hotel has seen better days and is actually being refurbished next year BUT it is clean, the beds are comfortable enough, it has a pool and you can have a reasonable time there. The internet is not as accessible as it claims to be on the website but hey, you can get access in other locations:

Toilets - clean, basic and reasonable standard.
Bedrooms - usually two singles pushed together. Comfortable and does the job. Clean linen and beds made every day. Television was broken. Security locker broken. Room was clean though.
Security - well the rooms are well locked and only the cleaners have access. There are security lockers but they were past their best in terms of condition.
Reception - manned 24/7. Polite staff and always helpful.
Pool - clean - cold but clean. Poolside cafe during the day. Open day light hours. Plenty of sunbathing space and loungers.

So in summary, you get what you pay for. All in all very reasonable and although I would probably experiment and see if there was anywhere better (I am told there are some better places) I would not begrudge giving them the money again on the basis that it is clean, centrally located and the staff are polite and helpful.

Hope that helps.

Room Tip: Sea views means nothing, it is 5 minute walk from the see and you cannot really see them. The just o...

This is my second critic of this hotel. Since the last time no improvements have been made to the facilities but there is a considerable difference between the room we got this time and any previous room we had at this complex. This time we have stayed on the ground floor with a room facing the pool. The room was quiet, bigger, lighter and more comfortable than the other rooms we have had. The sleeping room faces the courtyard (attached) so there is a bit of noise from the people coming and going, buy some wax earplugs to block the noise and you should be all set.
The rooms are not serviced everyday but that was alright (Sundays -at least- is off day for cleaners)
We had not used or even seen the pool until this time, now, we think we will never visit the beach again. We were in a lazy mood and walking through the dunes to reach the beach was not appealing enough and on our last day we tried the pool. Fantastic! right next to the room and with a bar next to the pool, what else can you ask for?
Due to its neighbouring Yumbo Centrum the hotel has a wide gay crowd, very friendly and with smiles all over, fun place!
The price is just as cheap as it has always been and although the rooms are from the 70s and kind of basic, they are just what you need to make the most of Playa del Inglés if you have your dinners out.

The rooms are basic with a small kitchen with what you would expect to find in it. The room was clean and cleaned every day the hotel grounds are well kept and the pool is and surrounding area is clean.
The hotel is very good value for money - I've stayed at more expensive hotels in gran canaria which have been of a lower standard. Its about 5 mins walk to the yumbo centre and about 10 mins to the beach. There is a supermarket 2 mins away. I Would recommend this hotel and will be staying here again.

Spent a week at these apartments in November 2011. The accommodation is fairly basic but clean and comfortable with most things you require. If you're planning on doing a lot of cooking these won't be the best for you (a few pans, two gas rings, fridge, limited crockery cutlery, coffee maker, no kettle), but this is not unusual and adequate for me.

Most of the rooms are studios which meant there were two sofas which doubled as beds (though another review suggests some rooms have beds). I was on my own so used one permanently as a sofa, one as a bed and found comfortable for both uses. The layout is slightly odd with wardrobes in the hallway as you enter.

I did not find the pool but did not bother as it's not my thing.

I was on the 9th (top) floor which provided great sea views, there are two modern lifts with not too long a wait once called. I guess it might be worth asking for as you would avoid any noise from above (although I am not aware that that would be a problem). Overall though noise was not a problem. Even though centrally located there were no loud bars around.

The apartments are just a few minutes from the Yumbo and 10 minutes from the beach with two good supermarkets next to the apartments.

Staff were very good with check-in/out very smooth. I hired the electronic safe for the week which I found a bit glitchy, they offered to call the engineer but I'd got it working again, just give it a pull to check it is locked.

It's not luxury but more than adequate for me and a great location.

Room Tip: I enjoyed the views from the 9th floor and it was quiet up there (but when it was windy you knew abo...
