“I love the place... My 3rd trip there this year”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2011

A really great place to stay. My first ever trip to the Canary Islands was in February this year and I have been back twice already!!.. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the bathrooms equally so with great showers and bath. Hint to the wise... ask for a room facing over the pool and preferably 3rd floor or above - and you get a sea view too - albeit through the palm trees.

The all inclusive deal is great -eat and drink as much as you want and the food is terrific. You are spolt for choice. Breakfasts are out of this world - and I imagine lterally so if you help your self to the Cava or even vodka....! that's avalable. I stuck to eggs bacon smoked salmon, the best scamled egg anywhere and as much freshly squeezed orange juice as you want.

The staff are terrific, really friendly and very helpful. They remembered me following my first visit in February and the last time I was welcomed with a kiss by the lovely lady who runs the Wellness Centre...talking of which. Just impossible to describe. Hydrotherapy pool, Dead Sea Floatation Pool. Sauna, Steam Rooms, Water Bed Room and all included. Just fantastic. Superb rooftop sunterrace with nudist area....lovely taking all your clothes off and lying in the sun in February - and March - and May and again soon I hope. Evening and daytime entertainment are provided . Join in or not as you wish, though it has to be said that the Saturday Karaoke night is to die (laughing) for... how they are managing without my rendition of "I Will Survive" I cannot imagine. (Aplolgies to Gloria Gaynor and many thanks to the extremely appreciative audience - Ok they were mosltly German - but still it was great fun.

Lynda Amersham

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking pool 3rd floor or above. A bit noisy. But fine. Lower rooms - ground - 1s...

I've chosen this hotel thanks to a review on tripadvisor. Bull Escorial Hotel has been a good choice. It is located in the centre of Playa del Ingles, the bus station is nearby and there is a stop just outside the hotel. The beach is very close and nearby there is a leisure centre with restaurants, discos, shops and so on.
The hotel is very clean, the room was ok, clean and well equipped, there was the better refrigerator I have ever seen in a hotel room!
The staff of the reception, of the bar and of the restaurant is very friendly and kind.
The restaurant offers a sufficient variety of dishes but it is dedicated above all to international clients and are not Spanish dishes.
The swimming pool is normal, I have nothing to criticise.
The best feature of the hotel is the free WELLNESS CENTER available for the guests. The staff kindly give you towels for free and then it is possible to access to a very beautiful swimming pool where you can relax using the hydromassage! There is also another amazing pool with Dead sea salts. [ These are 4 / 5 stars hotel equipment].
(Only massages and solarium are not free.)
There is also a free internet cafè downstairs.
I would recommend this hotel to all my friends! :) It is a very good three stars hotel.

Room Tip: I would recommend a room from the 3rd on

We booked for a one week holiday with my wife and two grown up sons. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The shower was excellent constant hot water day and night, fresh towels every day. The restaurant was better than any other all inclusive restaurant i have ever been to. The food was of a high quality and the variety over the week was stunning lots of meat or fish dishes and salads. Not the largest variety of puddings but the main course more than made up for it. The hotel also has a spa downstairs which is included in the deal and is well worth a visit. My only gripe is the outdoor pool is very cold, but some people liked it that way. The clientele is predominately German with a few Dutch, Italians, French Swiss and English. The sunbeds do get reserved pretty early but we got sunbeds every day, there are signs saying that you cannot reserve a sunbed but the Germans get there towels down before breakfast so if you want a prime spot you got to get your towel down early.

We all enjoyed our stay and were sad to leave and would definitely return

I have just stayed at this hotel for the second time and thought I would write a review. This hotel deserves all the positive reviews on this site. The food is fantastic and everyone should find something they like. There is live cooking at all meal times, a massive choice of dishes, fresh squeezed orange for breakfast (even vodka and gin if you wanted for breakfast too!!).
The pool area is clean and well laid out and the roof terrace is very peaceful and has a jacuzzi where you can cool off from the heat.
The rooms are well fitted out and comfortable and cleaned daily.
The wellness centre is out of this world and is worth the price on it's own. The hotel also has a fantastic games room in the basement with pool and snooker tables, a bowling alley, card tables and a a whole bank of PCs with free access. Wi-fi is available in the reception area too.
All in all packed with facilites and amazing value for money. You will not be dissapointed with this hotel.

GOT BACK 19TH JUNE 2011 AFTER 1 WEEK ALINCLUSIVE .ok the good points briggette on reception and nevis on the bar are brill rooms clean so is the pool plenty of spaces for you to get a tan, close to everything you need from shops to bars to the beach all in walking distance. Food very good always something to eat free internet and spa all excellant would definately recomend this hotel.bad points Some of the staff are a little rude found they prefered the germans over the english but it is a geramn hotel.they could do with a bar or drinks machine on the roof as you had to go down 8 flights for a drink.Had to pay for air con and on our booking was told it was included but its only 2 euros a day so not to expensive.

My husband and I have just returned from a 10 day break from the Escorial. We couldn't fault the hotel. The reception staff were pleasant, room perfect and cleaned everyday, pool spotless and plenty of sun loungers. The food was lovely and plenty of variety. The Wellness Centre was out of this world!!! The Dead Sea Pool was the perfect way to relax after a long day sunbathing. The spa was fantastic with jet pools and water beds to chill on... more 5 star than 3!

The only negative if we are being picky is that there are few english channels.... but who goes on holiday to watch the tv. Also the air con is placed directly above your bed which is quite noisy and cold when you are trying to sleep.

Overall the hotel is the perfect relaxing break in a fab location... close to bars, shops, restaurants and the beach!!! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to go to Gran Canaria.

Got back yesterday fron The Escorial, Playa Del Ingles, Gran Canaria. Debated on writing a review because I thought maybe next time we won't get in. Hotel is well located 5 mins from the beach promenade. This is a 3* hotel??? with a 5* attitude. Main Pool (not suitable for small children, but there is a kiddies pool with a playgroung too.)is a suntrap that is shaded on one side in the afternoon so it suits all, there is also a solarium, sundeck on the roof witha jacusi, view is spectacular.. Access to the bar and snacks from the pool is super, well known brands on request and pint glasses available, self service beer and soft drinks, wine by the bottle. Entertainment and activities are light and never in your face, very polite and friendly chap. Something on every night.
The restaurant provides for everyone what ever your tastes ( I'm a chef by trade and I know how hard it is to please every body all of the time) but they really try hard here, fresh meat and fish cooked infront of you every night , pasta, rice ,fresh veg and loads of salads and cold meats and cheeses, piles of jumbo prawns and smoked salmon with local dishes included too. Plenty of selection for breakffast too and freshly squeezed orange juice with no extra charge. The only critism would be the desserts this needs improving they need a pattiserie chef, but what the hell there's loads of fresh fruit and ice cream.
The spa and gym in the basement is the best I have seen in any hotel, the equipment is first class and the spa and hydrotherapy pool is an absolute luxury and no charge to hotel guests it also has a dead sea pool, magic. You have to pay for treatments, it has tanning, steam rooms, sauna its fab. The hotel is spotlessly clean, cleaner in the toilets every evening. All the staff helped to make our holiday special, always polite, sociable and effective, can't wait to go back!!!

Room Tip: Pool view better
