I stayed here with my Mum 2 years ago and had a great time so decided to return for the last week of August (25th Aug - 1st Sept) and found it to be just as good! The staff are very helpful and welcoming, some staff speak more fluent English than others but all are helpful and try to understand what you are asking if unsure, especially considering the range of languages they are trying to help.
Rooms - we stayed on the 1st floor, I found it nosier than last time and think this was due to being at the front rather than back, so could hear people coming back from nights out, which was every night. Someone mentioned in their review that they had a hairdryer - this was not the case in our room so be aware that maybe rooms have different facilities. The room was cleaned daily and like all of the hotel done to a high standard. We initially were put in a room which had a double bed but this was soon resolved and we were instantly found another room with twin beds. As others have said no air con means it is very hot - we slept with the balcony doors open (which may have also been why it was noisy). I think fan hire was 15 euros, but 10 was refundable. We used the safe in the room and this was 2 euros per day.
Food - a range of food is put out at each meal time and you definitely won't go hungry. Some mentioned getting fed up of the same food but like at home you needed to plan what you were going to have rather than picking up a bit of everything just because it was there. There was always salad, a couple of meat dishes, fish, chips, potatoes, pasta and vegetables at lunch and dinner so you could create something different each time. Plates were cleared instantly from your table, and again waiting staff were friendly.
Snacks were also available outside main meal times - in the morning this included toasted sandwiches, chips, burgers and hotdogs! Drinks were also available from this location throughout the day - this did not start til 11, it would be useful to have somewhere a bit sooner as if you had breakfast early there was no where to get a drink until this time if waiting for the all inclusive.
Pools - one day we left the hotel early for an excursion and saw that people were queueing at 07.40 to reserve sunbeds!! Before people stereotype I noted that a lot of these people were British!! This was ridiculous as the hotel has loads of sunbeds and there was never a shortage - plently of spares even in the afternoon. I also found this highly unfair as around the quieter pool there are only a few trees that have been put in as umbrellas for the shade and some people were reserving this in the morning and not appearing til midday (we were down at the pool around 9 and I saw that nobody appeared til this time). The hotel could do with some umbrellas as a lot of people were looking for shady spots so this could be one area for improvement. There is a small childrens area, a main pool where the activies happen and then another quieter pool.
Entertainment - typical hotel entertainment, we found the children's mini disco the most fun to watch. The same songs are played each night for this and the staff work hard to get the children to the floor and adults to participate in some of the actions. After this there was a range of different acts across the week - magic show, music acts, bingo etc. Throughout the day there is also a programme of events which staff try to get people to participate it such as aqua aerobics, water polo, football, shuffleboard and so on.
Cleanliness - staff are constantly cleaning, everywhere you go you will find it to a high standard.
Facilities - wifi is available at a cost - if you go on initially you can get 30 mins for free (I did this on my phone). You could then pay 1 euro for an hour or there were other rates if you wanted wifi access for the week. A spa is available at the hotel but I did not use this. We had a night flight so our rep had said if you get up early on the day you leave you might be able to keep the room til 6pm for 25 euros - we got up early but couldn't do this so were inititally disappointed as we wanted to shower before the flight however the shower room available was impressive - when we were told about this we were expecting something like at a public swimming pool but instead found a large room with 2 shower cubicles, 2 dressing rooms as well as space around this and towels to use! This was perfect and would suggest you save yourself the money and just use this instead - there is a luggage room anyway so no need to keep the room.
Location - the hotel has some small shops underneath where you can get beach towels, some souveniors and international press. There is another supermarker just down the road which has a greater selection of snacks. Across the road and near the beach there is a few other shops - these are similar to shops that you will see across the resort region. The beach therefore is nearby and a flat walk in either direction is pleasant - one way takes you to San Augustin and the other into Playa del Ingles. If you walk to Playa del Ingles you will see the sandunes. We walked to Maspalomas market on the Wednesday which took us around an hour (if we deduct the time we got lost and went the wrong way) I would suggest due to the heat actually just getting a taxi - this apparently only cost around 3 euros and would have saved a lot of time and effort, or ensure you know where you are going!
I would definitely recommend this hotel and go back for a third time in the future!

I can see that you know the hotel very well and am very grateful of your realistic descriptions. Everybody can realize that persons have different points of view and expectations on their holidays, the places and hotel or apartment they are going to stay at but, as I said in my opinion your view is fair enough with us and I really thank you.
Of course, there are things that can be improved, some of them we are doing right now and some others have to wait for a while. In any case, I guess that people can find in internet enough information on accommodation and resorts to avoid surprises or false expectations.
In this sense, I would like to remark two points you mentioned: 1. to rent a fan costs 15€ (charge) + 10€ (refundable). I mean, you pay 25€ for a fan and get back 10€. 2. Hairdryer: the hotel is commercialized without hairdryer because we do not provide it in all rooms. There are a few rooms on 5th, 6th and 7th floor that are still equipped with an old model,of those made specially for hotels. The rooms on 6th and 7th floor are double sea view rooms (high category) and the rest of the rooms, even on 5th floor, are double standard rooms.
You always can ask us by mail, phone or fax to reserve a room with hairdryer and we shall take into account at the moment we allocate the rooms but, in any case, we can guarantee this point.
