“Good base for your holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2013

We stayed here for a week and were pleasantly surprised by the standard of the hotel. It was clean, rooms were a good size and there were good facilities. We are not ones to sit by the pool all day but the areas are nice although they do get quite busy early on. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful, the maid done a good job of cleaning the room too. The main let down was the food, mainly fish or pork choices and not always of good quality. The rep reckons they're not really set up to cater for UK tastes and the hotel was used by mainly German/Scandinavian guests. We had booked a double room but got a twin and although we didn't require air conditioning, there isn't an option for it if you do. Although we're unlikely to go back to Playa del Ingles again, I would definitely consider staying at an IFA Hotel again in the future if there was one available.

The hotel is great the rooms are clean, staff helpful and friendly, location not bad. Down side a poor animation team and evening shows are not very good at all quite dull and boring. The hotel have a 'no reserving sunbeds' policy however this is never enforced and unless you are willing to get up at 8 and fight the Germans who are already arguing amongst themselves I would recommend going to the beach where for 7 euro you can get a sunbed and umbrella and no hassle

We spend a week a this hotel. The employees were very nice and very helpful, The rooms had a nice size and we were so lucky as to stay in a room away from the scene and the noise, which we were SO happy about. But we had asked for this before leaving.

The buffet were adequate, but no more. It was more or less the same all 7 days, and the last couple of night we ate out, as we simply had enough.

But I would still choose all inclusive as it is cheap and convenient. And we did not have to carry water and soft drinks from the supermarket to the hotel.

The hotel has also a nice location and we took some nice walks in the area.

Room Tip: Rooms away from the scene are nice and quiet.

We stayed here for a week and really wanted more time. The hotel is huge with man bars and restaurants. It has 3 massive sun bathing areas and wonderful staff. I have been back a week and just booked again for next month. There is a Salon spa even a big gym. Wow

Fabulous place to stay.

Just came back from a week in the Buenaventura, and had a great time. The hotel was spotlessly clean, maid service every day ( with a smile) . The rooms are a great size and we were on the 7th floor overlooking the pool which was brilliant. Some of the lower rooms would be shaded by trees so make sure you ask for higher up just in case! The breakfast was excellent, I read a comment recently that the food was always cold..this was most certainly not the case!! Everything you could ask for is there no matter what your choice. I came home with more pounds around my waist than I would have liked. It is a very mixed nationality hotel too, and no troublemakers, everyone there just to have a chilled break. The only thing I will say is if you are Half Board which we were, the pints of beer have a head about an inch high, so you're not getting your full value. this is fine if you are All Inclusive, but a bit of a pain otherwise. All the staff were very friendly, and the entertainment staff ( who all seem to be able to speak around 5 languages!) were great. There was so many things to do during the day you really hadnt much need to leave the hotel. Overall, we were delighted with the service in whole, and would definitely recommend this hotel to others

Room Tip: we were in 771 great views and is on the entertainment side, music stops at 11pm so great if you wan...

We have just returned last night from a weeks stay at the beuenaventura, we loved it!! yes its a huge hotel, but if you have done your homework before booking you would know that....the whole place is exceptionally clean and all the staff work very hard, and for the reviews on here previously that have said the cleaners etc didnt smile or communicate...if YOU too make the effort to smile and say hello they are only too happy to return the compliment.
With regards to the clientele the hotel caters for..yes it is prodominently german and yes im afraid some of them did live up to their reputation of being rude, obnoxius and arrogant..pushing in at dinner and hogging the sunbeds etc on the whole they were pleasant enough tho, there were also alot of spanish, french, swiss and dutch, which didnt bother us in the slightest, if you are at all homophobic tho i would suggest considering somewhere else as there were alot of gay couples in the hotel...again this did not bother us in the slightest.
The food at the hotel was fine, there is enough choice to find something for everyone, their salads and fruit were lovely, the only complaint was that by the time you had got back to your table most of the hot food was cold as sometimes the plates were not at all warm, i would also advise getting your cutlery and finding a table before you start going for your food, the hotel was no means full, but a couple of nights we had to wait for a table to become available, i should think in the height of summer this could be a big issue. There were plenty of meat options as well as pasta and of course the staple diet of chips and pizza, desserts were a little limited unless you like cake based puds...other than that the only other choice was cold rice pudding or ice cream.

The pools were freezing even in the 24/26 degree heat and the jacuzzi was colder than the pool, in fact so cold you couldnt get in it!
The rooms were spacious and exceptionally clean, but as mentioned before the beds are VERY hard, we woke most mornings with back pain and as i have bad hips they also became very stiff and sore after a couple of nights, please do ask for extra pillows etc at reception and they will deliver more straight away to you.
You can when you arrive and get your room card put money on to it to use inside the hotel for drinks and food, this gives you an automatic 5% discount on anything you use it for, it also saves you carrying any money around with you, this we found a great way to pay for our drinks etc,

Entertainment wise....we didnt really see any apart from in the reception bar where they had singers most nights which were perfectly acceptable, there is more entertainment at the left hand side pool which could be very noisy, both during the day and in the evening, although it only went on till 11.30pm at the latest, if you like an earlier bedtime or dont wish to listen to any of it, ask for a quiet room, we did this and we were on the 3rd floor at the back overlooking the gardens and even with the patio door wide open we heard nothing. There was always something going on with the animation team during the day.

We hired a car from over here in the uk using enjoy (on travelsupermarket.com) from airport to airport for the week cost us £60.00 plus the £42 insurance you pay when you pick it up...which is worth it as if your travelling about the island like we did..the roads are hairpin after hairpin up and down the mountains and you quite regularly meet buses or mad road users coming the other way in the middle of the road! so be warned, but its so worth it to see all the island has to offer the scenary was spectacular, we also recommend palamotis park espcially if you have little ones, the dolphin show was fantastic, the jeep safari was also a good day trip out.
All in all we had a fantastic holiday and would definatley go back to this hotel, if your looking for top notch 5* hotels, then go and book one, dont book a 3/4 star and expect everything to be perfect, for the money its certainly well worth it.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room away from the entertainment area, also ask for extra pillows!
